I have been hearing for some time it will be a content based expansion. Less huge overland zones mostly used for travel, and more direct usable instance content.

i think personally Pinski is spot on. I suspect a shadowman expansion. I suspect many obelisks to spawn all over the current zones. These will be vary instances of heroic and raid difficulty. From what i have been told the devs are putting thier time into content that is directly usable. They spent a majority of their time in RoK on these huge overland zones while visually superb to most of norrath lacked direct usable content and took alot of developement time.

This is not to say there wont be a huge contested overland zone but i suspect it will be noticably less overland zones then prior expansions and to be more of an obelisk portal that leads to large shadowman dungeon-like (chardok type) instance. In other words the content they want to add should be mostly repeatative and provide alot of direct stuff to do.

I'd put more money on a zone off of Obelisk that is a huge overland zone that has clickies back to obelisk and then ALSO to all the other zones, assuming it is a shadowman expansion.

plane of shadows from DND for example is definatly older. Just because some other game has done it doesnt mean it wouldn't be cool to have in a norrath setting.
Even if it were more than piss-poor speculation, do you honestly think they'd implelment it worth a steaming pile?

If it is t8 content, are we looking at another new combat system so that they can add progression, or we all just end up getting overcapped in every existing attribute?

I'm gonna go with an airship named Odyssey that takes us to new lands on Norrath that have a larger Shadow presence.

And just to add to my own idea...by having more obelisks that are already on Norrath in undiscovered lands, it reduces the impact on our existing lands and storylines.
