I don't get it. The mail basically says that you got the plat from a plat seller not that you got it from a player.

Re: Plat farmers
correct, but not true. I asume it is a standard email they send. Only other option would be someone plays all the time with a legit character but works for a company like that. Since everyone i know is on vent and killing / questing when they are on, I find that option rather hard to believe.
I am pretty sure i know where the transaction started at since i did get a lot of money from one person. That being the case i know for a fact it would be them purchasing, paying me off and then me being penialize.
The odd part was, even though that person sent me a HUGE chunk of what i had on me at that momemt, the dev took about 100-150 more plat than was even involved in what she sent me. (Never did get an answer about that.) That was by far the only thing big enough done face to face ot through the mail that would beanwhere close to the amount they took. the last update i got in the petition was just saying the plat would not be returned, period.
hhhmmm, maybe i'll just wash any transactions i have from now on. I'll tell anyone paying me anythign to go to my house and buy roots for 1 plat a piece. Just keep a special stock at that price soley for that purpose. At least that way it is a broker sale and maybe they will leave me out of any of their internal BS.

Not saying that you did, but you are presenting us with a he said/she said situation with only side of the story.
I'm cautious in believing that SOE is doing a witch hunt. It wouldn't surprise me but I need more solid proof....

I was suspended back during KoS on suspicion of buying plat. I guess the retards never thought to look at the transactions through the broker from me farming way too much.
Then I was suspended for a week for saying Vagina in /ooc but thats another story for another day.

Re: Plat farmers
Soooo leme get this straight
"Player A" hacks "Player B"s account and steals all their plat. "Player C" through hard legit play earns a master in a group and puts on the broker. "Player A" purchases that master with dirty money. "Player A" is banned and "Player C" losses all money from the sale of his hard earned master.
If someone stole my credit card and bought a surf board with it, I get reimbursed my money that was stolen and the surf board shop still keeps their money for their sale. The thief is caught eventualy, and everyone is happy. But no one ever loses any money. (btw true story)
SOE should just let this minor spat of inflation go and quit pissing off their honest constomers.

It appeared after it switched hands multiple times, some ended up with me. (Don't know if i was the only person, as no details were ever shared.)
Anyway, long story short i guess even if you are in a chain associated with plat from a sorce like this, get ready to lose your plat. Personally i think it is a load of crap that you have to question people as to where they got something. Beware though: they nailed me for it and it didn't sound like they even wanted to talk about it. I personally yelled and screamed until it went to a Master Dev or whatever they are called. They said the source account was now banned, but have yet to figure out who the hell they are talking about as no one i have had dealings with with is banned.(Note: most everthing I had at the time had been sent from one person and that person didn't have any messages and are not banned in anyway, so i don't know who they are even talking about.) Personally it sounds like a giant cluster F*&%^ to me in which i was the only one raped....lol
Sorry, gotta find a little humor it in, nothing else in the senerio is funny. Anyway just a warning; recieved beware no matter what you are doing.
End result, From here on out I roll for what I can use and get money from drops. Not trading for crap anymore because if that happens again, I am seriously gona have and stoke from the rise in blood pressure. We'll see if the game is still fun playing soley like this, if not,,,,see you in AoC.

Somthing similar happened to me just the other day as my main is a sage i made a few spells that are wizards spells put them on the broker and lo and behold someone buys them.. Come to find out it was a plat farmer and the money they claimed was ""duped"<spelling> that was used to buy my spells from me on the broker. I not haveing any knowledge take my plat and mail one here and one there to my alts. I get a letter in the Ingame box from SOE saying how im buying plat and how im dealing with the farmers... (((plz note yes im sure i have bought plat at some time but it has beena great deal of time since then))) So what do they do they take every single plat from my acount, cause they say i have spread it to all my toons!!!
So i petition it and they say that while they did confirm it was not boughten plat it was still dupped? So i get fucked they TOOK all my plat over 160+ on all my toons plz note up to this point i had 3 acounts 2 where the max $30 ones....((i like alts :P))
So after 4 petitions and a phone call to SOE customer service i get a sorry we cant give it to you it wouldnt be fair. WTF?!?!?!?!
I earned it and they even admittted it!
I now only have one active acount and debateing canceling, oh and btw a friend of mine i sent a plat too cause he was short some coin got a warning from this.... STUPID FUCKING SOE :4 1:

seems they got ways of tracking this pp so why they comming down on 3rd party not the 1st party? makes no sence.
guess the 1st party was a temp account and that long gone.

No they cant use a temp acount there is no mail box on the island, nor can temp acounts leave the island....

Uh yes actually, they do send in game emails without follow up emails, and they do snipe plat straight out of your account and only leave in game emails for this.
I got some mid level alts on Naggy, and basicly the same thing happened to me. I got an in game email that stated I was involved with a transaction that involved illegal plats, and that the item I had sold to a person was bought with illegal plats, and those plats where removed from my account.
No out of game email, nothing, just a fuck you note from a GM, and 25p x2 gone in the wind. Thats right, I made a sale for 25p, and they came in and took 50p out of my account.
Fucking douchebags!
