Re: Plat farmers
Hold on to your plats! It sounds like SOE is only targeting people who post on EQ2 Flames.

hhhmmm, maybe i'll just wash any transactions i have from now on. I'll tell anyone paying me anythign to go to my house and buy roots for 1 plat a piece. Just keep a special stock at that price soley for that purpose.

What wild services are you offering that you need a stock of 1pp roots for people to pay for? I mean, if it's items, just sell the items. If it is tradeskill crap you are making, (I am speculating here), then why don't they pay for items?
It would look dang incriminating to me as well if someone was receiving 200p chunks (or whatever the case may be) in mail as well.
Just wondering.

Re: Plat farmers
Hmm. I have gotten 2 requests today for Adept III spells. People rarely hit me up this often.
Hopefully I do not find an empty bank account and a "Too Bad Soo Sad" notice from Sony tomorrow.

Re: Plat farmers
Thats gay as fuck. I mean in real life at least there checks to find out if you received counterfeit money. They can call it whatever they want, you got jack moved by SoE.
1. Jack Move
To steal something from someone without their consent. An action which someone does to another person for their personal belongings.
Walking down the street, I got a JACKMOVE pulled on me. There was a JACKMOVE in da hood.

Re: Plat farmers
heres a move for you.
when i was playing i got 20 aas everytime i zoned, was a bug of course, so i told the gm via a petion and he said do/bug in game we will look at it and fix it. great i thought another role back on my account ,so i sat there for 4 days with nothing to do not even on eq2, then i get a email saying thank you your accounts been roled back. in i go check the said toon fine so i go log in my main and transfer some pp now heres where it gets intresting.
so main logged in in kp i cant move i got 900 str im thinking why cant i move? look on my chr over flow box is up, so ok i go sell stuff to merchant put stuff on broker etc, well i then get soulfire pop up 3x cardcutter pop up 3x etc all my kit was duplicated 3x (why i couldnt move) even house items were in there, so knowing i cant have 2 lore itmes i sell the lot made 200pp from the sell
told soe you fcked up royally im not playing any more waste my time ( after a load of hacks as well i was thinking a pp farmer would go nuts with this account as it is) so i gave all my money to my friends
now to this date that was a good month ago my mates told me soe not asked them for this money at all lol, funny how they can fck up and do nothing about it but when you get something bought from you with dodgy pp your number 1 prime suspect
sorry long story but thought it was funny

Re: Plat farmers
SOE isn't the first MMO company to do things this way, I've heard about this happening in a number of other MMOs, but usually it's because of script kiddies duplicating in-game money. In duplicating cases, it is pertinent to remove cash from the game to avoid un-natural inflation.
SOE, while fucking you over, is actually providing some useful control functions for EQ2. First they are making an effort to catch and punish plat farmers and their buyers. Second, they are taking money out of the system, which helps keep the economy pretty stable (this is where you get screwed). Third they are spreading the word that plat farmers and those who buy from them are not to be tolerated, but not only that, anyone who deals with plat farmers or their buyers, knowingly or unknowingly, will get screwed themselves (this is also where you get screwed). While this last function really sucks for you, it will make you, and other people that you talk to about this unfortunate event, think twice before dealing high cost transactions to random people; it will help single out plat buyers, as you will not want to trade with anyone you know or suspect to have purchased plat.
I don't care for SOE, but you have to admit that given the scale of EQ2's transactions, its not feasible to expect SOE to fully investigate beyond a doubt that the item you sold was sold at a reasonable market price and that you had no suspicion that the buyer was reputable or not. A person who knowingly sells an item to a known plat buyer is just as guilty as the plat buyer and the plat farmer. SOE can't reasonably make that distinction whether you did or did not know the origin of the money, so it has to treat you as if you did know.
Personally this doesn't make me mad at SOE, because I understand why they have to do it this way. I'd be more pissed at the douche plat farmer and the lazy-assed plat buyer who ultimately fucked me over.
This is no different than real life, how many laws are out there because some douchebag fucked it up for everyone else?

Re: Plat farmers
Unless they can prove BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT, they should not touch people's money. Not the other way around.
But we all know that the customer is a pesky annoyance according to Sony.
