Interesting little senerio. Didn't even realize you could be penialized for this. Was running aound J Wastes and my mail went off and since i was over by the docks, went to check it out. Was an odd looking meassage from Sony. It appears, after much heated discussion with Sony, that someone who sent me money had revieved money from a known seller. It appeared after it switched hands multiple times, some ended up with me. (Don't know if i was the only person, as no details were ever shared.)
Anyway, long story short i guess even if you are in a chain associated with plat from a sorce like this, get ready to lose your plat. Personally i think it is a load of crap that you have to question people as to where they got something. Beware though: they nailed me for it and it didn't sound like they even wanted to talk about it. I personally yelled and screamed until it went to a Master Dev or whatever they are called. They said the source account was now banned, but have yet to figure out who the hell they are talking about as no one i have had dealings with with is banned.(Note: most everthing I had at the time had been sent from one person and that person didn't have any messages and are not banned in anyway, so i don't know who they are even talking about.) Personally it sounds like a giant cluster F*&%^ to me in which i was the only one raped....lol

Sorry, gotta find a little humor it in, nothing else in the senerio is funny. Anyway just a warning; recieved beware no matter what you are doing.

End result, From here on out I roll for what I can use and get money from drops. Not trading for crap anymore because if that happens again, I am seriously gona have and stoke from the rise in blood pressure. We'll see if the game is still fun playing soley like this, if not,,,,see you in AoC.

i gotta agree, it is kinda funny / retarded.

If this is their new approach (assuming new because i have never heard of it) sounds like a REALY bad PR move. Once they run around gutting various accounts, can't imagine people already borderline about the game sticking around once they get randomly sniper shot. Hell, I love the game but the whole thing now has me curious about AoC, Lineage and stuff like that. I never even looked at those before because i was such an avid EQ2 fan, but to say i am window shopping now would be an understatement.

HHHmmm, wonder if I'd get in trouble for returnng a large 52' Sony LCD wall mounted Sony TV I just got and then once it is all done calling in to customer support and saying, "Actually i returned it becasue there small section of Sony (SOE) that got me PO'ed so i decided they could take their product and shove it...lol.)

Actually I like the TV, but would be funny as hell for them to realize thier crap has bigger fallout that just us bitching online. Maybe Sony would actually start to view then as just more than a plaything on the side.

Why would SoE send you an in-game-mail about this and not a regular email or even try contacting you via phone? Sounds... odd.

No idea. Didn't get anything via email at all until i petitioned. Then all i ever saw were petition updates.

Do they usually send you an actual email if they do something like this? Never seen one from them in the past beyond advertisements.

How do we know that you didn't get the money straight from the plat seller? If so, it needed to be deleted.

Not saying that you did, but you are presenting us with a he said/she said situation with only side of the story.

I'm cautious in believing that SOE is doing a witch hunt. It wouldn't surprise me but I need more solid proof....
