Sure the game may be up for a graphics award, but if the art department was tied to that award the only thing EQ2 would be nominated for would be "Least Creative Armor Design" award. Pretty bad when their idea of new skins for armor is changing the color of the shit. There is so much room for creativity when it comes to armor design, and their team does jack shit with that option other than decide to change the color from black to blue. GG SOE, hope that trophy falls on your lead artist's head and kills the fucker, or maybe gives him/her a clue that this is a fantasy game and there should be some variety in armor designs.

I had your problem when eq2 first came out, i had the latest and greatest 6800u, and eq2 ran like shit, i must admit it was frustrating.

Just have to give it time i suppose.

Hehe, no worries matey - I love that we can talk openly here without some feckwhit MiB bumbling along and locking the thread. I apologise if I sounded overly critical myself, it just puts a frown on my face when I see the cpu / gpu loading.

Im loving EQ2 as well, I resurected my brigand last week (after a year off) and Im having a blast tanking the easy kos instances for groups. Post lifeburn my necro is fantastic, not for the dps - just the horrified comments from healers who haven't seen the spell in action.

As for my spelling, Im sorry its shit. I also have this strange habit of posting a lot when I get home from the pub - I think I just miss the right keys and don't notice

I commented about the CPU/GPU issue on the official forum, and got jumped on by some codemonkey who claimed that MMOs by their design cannot load as much on the GPU as standalone games can, and that SOE could not have anticipated hardware developments years in advance of their introduction (C2D, unified shaders).

I don't expect a game to utilize multiple cores effectively - there isn't that much that can be made into separate threads, as I understand it. I would, however, like to see some optimization for non-Netburst architecture.

Once the revamp of PC model skeletons is done (which even the devs aren't saying when it will finish) we supposedly will see more diversity in armor graphics. I just hope they go back and change some of the old stuff, particularly the fashion garments that got added awhile back.
