As a Pete Rose fan I know he was a gambler and I also know that some of his critics feel he cheated the game of baseball... and not in the literal sense.
Back on topic... ummm....... spell consolidation should stick with cures and classes that have more than one debuff not dmg related or to self buffs

You were talking about spell consolidation which effects ALL classes, since it is unlikely that SOE will release an update that just consolidates the spells of just one specific class, I stand by my statement.
And no, consolidation will only kill eq2, if it is not dead already.
If you read into my post, you would've seen that I hinted at you being closed minded, since you were only thinking of your class, and flat out ignoring pantz point of view which is that while spell consolidation can potentially be a good idea ( I.E with your buffs ) it will only hurt most other classes, like the brigand, who have multiple debuffs with damage components attached to them.

However it is unlikely SOE will ever implement consolidation like that, so I would rather not have it at all to begin with.

I believe spell consolidation has to do more with spell names then shortening your number of spells. There are 8 tiers, 8 different names for a spell that does the same thing. It would be much easier doing new tier spells if they used the same name like Salve (T8) (App/Adept/Master) instead of having: Minor Salve, Salve, Greater Salve, Nature's Salve, Predatory Salve, Feral Salve, Wild Salve, Dire Salve...T9 = Super Feral Salve? :P
Also there are a few spells some classes have that should be combined like group buffs where they are always up, until cancelled. The healer AT has the most buffs to cast. Cures should stay as they are.
Master strikes consolidation was a good idea and I would also like to see druid portals be consolidated into 1 spell. A spell that opens a anywhere portal and lets the person who clicked the portal choose where they would like to go, only lists rings they have completed the quest for. That way the devs can open more druid rings up without worrying about flooding our hotbars.
Seriously though, you guys sound like they are giving you 3 buttons to push. zomg.
