Every hardcore raider started out a newb somewhere, in some game way back when and worked their way up. EQ2 was my first break into the raid scene because I didn't have the time nor did I care much about EQ1 and I was too drunk and making fun of the ones who played these types of games in the earlier days to try them. A few years later and a shitty injury put me in a chair staring at a comp screen wondering wtf do I do now. Now I waste my life away with the best of them. :/

You have the right attitude towards these boards if you ignore the epeenery/ ebooby flashing and take what info you can get from it all. Some of the dumb fucks actually have relevant info.

IMO, raiders or casuals aren’t any better than the other. They just have a different style of playing. That’s what it comes down to. Yes, everyone pays the same monthly fee, but it’s what you do with that monthly fee that determines what kind of player you are.

Some people enjoy just tradeskilling. Some people don’t mind the casual atmosphere. But like with any other game, the harder you work at it, the better your rewards. As it should be. I am a casual player. I’ve raided a handful of times. I never expect to have the same caliber of gear that the hardcore raiders to. It’s just common knowledge.

Why should I get the same benefits of the game when I didn’t put in the fraction of the work? That just doesn’t make sense.

In the same token, though, casual players aren’t any “less” of a player because they don’t raid. Their opinions are just as valid as anyone else and for raiders to “snub” their nose at the casuals simply because they don’t raid is ridiculous.

Our playing styles are just different. Not better or worse than the other.

But...it's christmas... oh fine /bites at 3devious

If any fighting is to be done tho I think it should be EQ2 playerbase vs EQ2 dev team, but the devs would probably just puss out as usual and runaway screaming "Working as intended!"

Or nerf us in such a way that we can't argue back due to our speech/typing skills to be nonexistent.

in most cases, there doesn't need to be a huge distinction between raiding and playing casually. people that are casual can still raid... it seems that everyone is in such a hurry to label guilds, and the label is always "raiding" or "family" (or casual) - neither of which is usually enough.

sure, there are some guilds that are hardcore, raid every night, camp all the contested, and dominate the server guilds. but, there are a lot of guilds that aren't that that get the "raiding" label.

not all non-"hardcore raiding" guilds are "family" guilds either.

it's not so easily categorized.

Old cheese smells a lot better than wasted subscription fees.

Like the story....And if you had such an issue with me when I was in Fable...why did you let me in and vote yes for me???? Seems like your just pissed I left....but oh well.

I mocked people paying for PSO because they were paying a monthly fee to play with 3 other people. Casual people are just as bad. They either single group, solo, or craft in their room.
Casual people are bad becuz they do single group, solo, or craft in their room? I admit that there are some other things that can be done and we ALL do our own thing, but there's nothing bad about having fun your own way. Not everybody enjoys raiding. And if raiding is all YOU do then youre missing out also...
