This thread (eventually) warmed the cockles of my heart. Puts back your faith in human nature. Shame that it requires the actions of an individual to rectify the failings of his employer.
I would add though that criticise them as you like but the bottom line is that EQ2 is by far the best MMORPG overall of this oeuvre. SOE may treat us like shit but the reason we're still all here is testement to their product, warts and all.

I was here because it was free for the last 25+ months. This month is on my dime. I haven't really been too impressed, so I am going to have to re-evaluate things over the next 2 weeks.

Re: SOE Customer Support, & forum use, a summary
That's a nice story, reminds me of some of the in-game customer service we received in early RoK with stuff like chests being stuck in the wall, and fixing the mass roll-back that boned anyone who so much as looked at a Burynai the wrong way. And the bug where duplicates of player's toons were being left in zones for ages (which iirc resulted in people being perma locked from instances, or something).
It seemed to me the quality of service was a result of people having particular GM/Dev contact details so they could bypass the Delhi-Callcentre style first line support. That wasn't always the case, but it seemed to help with certain situations.
Thumbs up to this guy though, a) for reading flames and b) for knowing the game well enough to know what you were talking about (which seems rarer than you'd hope) and how to fix the problem.

I think as a GM it should be required that you activly play 10+ hours a week...
Or else GTFO - i'd like to see some more GM's that actually play this game around. Not just generic tech support agents.
As for who ever's TV scenerio... thats just lame to use it in this case..
You bought your TV with the expectation that it would work, there for when it didnt you were upset - you never tried to take the TV into a service center, and you clearly didnt verify the TV was fixed before you signed the release for the TV repair guy handed you.
No one has ever expected SoE CS to work right. So when one does, its all like WOW and ewwww and ahhhh and stuff.
Little Dragon man - grats to you! Thank you sir.

That's kinda the feeling I got, except I haven't been able to cry for years!

An enchanter epic weapon without subjugation is like a Buckeyes T-shirt without the colors scarlet and gray.

Don't find yourself fixing things out of fear that you should have fixed out of love.

If only the rest of the CS department were as competent as GM Spadaccino (and yes, GM Wiseeye and GM Yxyran, I'm looking at you here )
Hats off to GM Wiseeye for issuing someone in my guild with "a warning for game exploitation" because he was standing too close to the broker NPC in QH, and to both GM Wiseeye and GM Yxyran for suspending me for "attempting to kill a raid level PvE encounter without enough people". /sarcasm

Sure, your GM might have a degree in advanced nuclear physics from some university in India but unless the fucker can understand English properly, he might as well go work for a mechanic somewhere in the back of Mexico.

Re: SOE Customer Support, & forum use, a summary
I wasnt busting his balls cause hes French Illum, I was just saying he was from a French server, and didnt have to come over to American servers and help at all, he was just being cool.
That was my only point.
