Re: EoF in Review
A longer path to the level cap isn't more difficult. It's just a longer process. There were at least as many (or more) retards at the cap in EQ1. And with trains being 100x more effective, they flourished.
That's not to say it wasn't terribly fast to level in EQ1, either. Back when you could get credit for the kill by striking the final blow, you could make level 50 on an alt in a week's time (and some did it over a weekend).

Right, I was referring to difficulty and time invested as seperate issues, I guess I kind of ran them together, sorry.
I could get level 50 overnight in eq2, and that just shouldn't happen, plain and simple. They've revamped the entire face of the game multiple times at this point, and I wouldn't mind another one if it included changes like these.
As far as the difficulty of the game goes, unfortunately, I don't really see an avenue SOE could take to make the game any harder to play. Raid encounters have become harder (I use that term VERY loosely) I suppose, but I could still teach a monkey to play any class in the game at a raiding level in less than an hour.

Re: EoF in Review
Ah, but is this a problem with just EQ2, or the genre as a whole (or all games)? There's nasty mobs in EQ2, as well as ones in EQ1, but once the strategies are formed, they're taken down predictably.
On top of that, is it actually an issue if the content keeps flowing with encounters that keep us busy? The core element of any good game is pattern memorization and playback. Once you know the patterns and how to deal with them, it doesn't randomly present a challenge now and then.
Look at any good shootemup. The basic concept is knowing what the bullet waves look like, where the gaps are, how the waves follow the player, and the speed of the tracers. Throw in bomb distribution, timing the waves (or basing them on boss health), and control of the play field to get powerups and score items at chosen times, and you have your game mastered (to the point you can literally do it with your eyes closed).

Re: EoF in Review
If they're releasing the expansions in the same order as they opened up zones in EQ1, shouldn't Odus be next?

Re: EoF in Review
They should just make the main city NPC's attackable so us Freeportians can rush in and kill them over and over to make up for some of the lack of dev love we have.

Don't think for a second that there aren't a lot of Queernosians that wouldn't mind killing a few NPC's as well.
Remember when the Pally's Consecrate was bugged? I was running around QH killing the Broker, Nathan Ironforge(the "gnoll" kid), Habourmaster, and Bankers for about 2hrs. People were running around like chickens with the heads cut off. "Oh NOZ", "I can't buy this... ", "Where the fuck is the ticket guy.." , it was one of the best times I've had in eq2 to date. LMAO

Well its nice to see you guys actually get around to more then just the "official" forums. Thanks.
I hope the next Expan will have alot more "Evil" involved, and several more raid zones.
So far I give EoF a C+, its OK, on the verge of good, but not great. Could be more raid content, alot more quests for evil players.
Oh can you confirm that the Ranger Class fabled gear is in game? Not 1 piece has even been disco'd on any server for nearly 6 weeks? I find that hard to believe.
Lastly, can you make a suggestion that the Beta invites not be a blanket invite process. I think having people fill out an app, that actually WANT to help you guys, instead of emailing people with cancelled accounts might work better. Just a thought.

3. Tradeskills - tinkering: Again, this new craft is wonderful, and I love it. I've maxed Ixnay as a 350 tinker already. In doing so, I have come to the opinion that tinkering is overpowered to the point of imbalancing gameplay for other classes. Many of the tinkered items are for use by tinkers only. These items include very reliable rez items, feign death items, "divine aura" items, "manastone" items, "memblur" items, and much more. The cumulative effect of those items turns a 350 tinker into a "super" character. All the new tinker only abilities Ixnay has now would be as if he got them by earning 300 more achievement points. The capabilities now possessed by tinkers makes it less important to include paladins, dirges, coercers, and FD class characters in raids or groups now, since one tinker with 350 skill of any adventure class can perform many of the specialty skills that previously merited a raid or group slot for a "utility" character. I urge you to look over the new tinker abilities in total and see whether you agree with me that they are collectively overpowered, and should be nerfed some.

I totally agree with this statement.
