That, and they need to make the spires to KoS work on the way up like they do on the way down.

I agree. Even better, put in a quest for a KoS and EoF gate spell.
I remember from being in KoS beta having a "Call of Tenebrous" spell, that allowed me to gate directly to the Tenebrous spires from Freeport.
I never understood why they took that out.
My preference would be to treat these gate spells like a big deal, and make earning them part of a super hard quest. They would provide a major convenience, so they shouldn't be given away and made trivial.

Re: EoF in Review
KoS isn't terrible (even with the irritating spire wait), since getting from overland zone to overland zone isn't a huge haul (and you can generally train it).
Plus, if you have the Splitpaw stone, you can just call there, run to the griffon tower, and fly to Thundermist Village.

Re: EoF in Review
It's a no win situation for them. If they did it the way you're suggesting, people would complain about the quests etc.
They'd then start to complain about how only wizards and druids should have the ports because "that's how it was in EQ1" and have to deal with all THAT bs.
I'd guess they did it the way they did as a part nostalgia, to bring back a little of the feel of the old world along with Faydwer, which also has a feel of old world about it.
I don't really think it takes a horribly long time to get around (unless I'm leading... then we end up in Canadia...) and while there is a bit of convenience to the ports that wizards and druids can do, it isn't a make or break feature.
No matter what they do, someone is going to complain about it and pitch hissies.
Making it harder (for those who appreciate challenge) will only set off the gimme everything on a silver platter players who are currently dominating MMOs (thank you gateway games!).
I really think they've tried to find a happy medium.

Re: EoF in Review
I'd like to see a developer with the balls to cater solely to raiders, and see how it turns out.

It doesn't need to be any more difficult than Call of Ro.
Since getting ports, I've actually finished quests in TT since I can just port to Antonica right next to the spires.

Do both. btw, can warlocks port to? they should be able to...shouldn't they?
but ya again, do both. what comes naturaly to the arcane and nature attuned should have to be worked hard for by others.

Re: EoF in Review
The problem with EOF travel isn't getting to EOF but the way the zones themselves are handled. I don't think anybody would mind it as it is if they added the horse carriers in each zone like they have in LFay. Walking to Klak is just boring as hell and a huge waste of time.

Re: EoF in Review
the reason there was a Call of T. in Beta, was so that people could access the content they were testing easier. therefore more 'testing' was able to occur, why they took it out, meh... cos they are SoE.

EoF sucks ass, necro's get lifeburn , and conjurors get bubble , and necros get pet immunity with just a health cost , and conjurors get some retarded ass unabate which is useless in my opinion.
