Is there something broken with the rest of the game that most people aren't aware of that the LOOT developers can deal with?

I think fixing everything and anything ANY of your customers are displeased with about your product...to make a lot more sense.

Re: Minutes from Dev Chat?
What saddens me is that SOE has abandoned the "alternative dev team" approach with expansions and instead expects its skeleton crew which is knee deep in OoS atm to have time to go back and polish old content. they just can't do both.

They didn't abandon it, they simply don't have enough people. Did you notice what they're hiring? Basically everything.
Apprentice Designers, Designers, programmers, coders... lol.
Its something they're forced to do, not something they're doing by choice.

No, they did it by choice back after DoF.

That's akin to saying "The hotel's foundation is crumbling but management should really have to focus on replacing the sapphire-encrusted bidets with emerald-encrusted bidets."

Re: Minutes from Dev Chat?
Actually it's more akin to saying, "Since the renovation isn't even fully outlined yet, here are some really quick fixes that can buy us time and happiness from some of our most vocal (and disappointed) customers."
Everyone can aspire to the high end but what do you do about players that already burned out the low end. Low end loot is only part of the problem with the early game and loot philosophy is a problem with the game itself. If they seriously undertake a loot review in the manner they should, it's going to lead them all over the map in terms of things that need to be changed. Better to take care of relatively easy fixes that can get you a lot of praise than to let a bunch of disgruntled players sit wondering what the heck you 're going to do to an area of the that doesn't even affect many of them directly. With the competition coming this year, they really can't take anything for granted, especially not player patience.
