>>>Fyreflyte: A lot of the older zones' loot has not scaled with items available from zones like Timorous Deep, and we're looking at ways of upgrading that loot to smooth out the progression. It's a big task, considering the large amount of loot in older zones, but it is definitely on my list.

Hmmm... This seems to indicate that they will be inflating the power of loot in the original zones, rather than scaling back the power of the loot in TD (which would seem to be a much easier task).

Interesting choice there, SOE.

Good choice , IMO. The groups that were there at launch aren't as plentiful, you need improved solo itemization.

I agree. I just leveled at alt and did every TD quest from 10 to finish and the gear is just ridiculous compared to the standard gear for that level.

All they really need to do is just cut the stats of every piece of gear in that zone by half which could be done in probably an hour.

I'm sure these dev chats are like "all request radio" where they have a playlist and wait for people to call in and if the person requests the next song that's on the playlist, they put them on the radio. ;) Hell if they write the answers ahead the devs don't even need to be there, they can just paste. Sort of like Voicetrack for developers.

They biting way more off than they can chew, having to up the loot in old zones is going to fuck a lot of shit up, that TD gear is about on par with level 40 stats, resists, and bonuses, so what are they going to make the t5 gear into? loot that rivals the old kos? This is just a problem that's going to combine and accumulate when they could just as easily drop a few of the total stats off of the TD gear and add spell and CA damage to a other pieces in t4-6

"Question number ten: (Derek) What kind of research do you do to see if people will like the things you put ingame ?"

"we gather this information both by reading the forums and by listening to people in game while we are playing."

So the responses they get are from people who use official forums (about 2% of all raiders?) and listening to people in game while they play? how often do you talk to a gm and tell them how you like the changes?

Well you do know that most of the devs are in the top2% of the guilds across all the servers and they listen to them quite often.. Even going as far as letting them cheat and stuff....
