Ah, but is SoE running the Player Community, and will it have rules like EQ2's?

SoE isn't running the player community, well not the ingame community. They handle Servers, TechSupport(OutofGame), and Distrubution. All & All the world chit chatter we have here in eq2 wont be the same in vanguard. I'f your not in the same area or sending personal tells no talk for you. lol

I think you have a good point Ishiru. In EQOA we had no world channels and everything was done in tells unless youre in the same zone as the person you were talking to. As a result, the drama was no where near the point that it is in EQ2 and spilling into these boards. Also servers were completely different worlds. I have no idea what went on on Hodstock, Castle Lightwolf, etc. as we had no way of communicating with them. I post on the current Vanguard forums occasionally and I see the audience for that game to be extremely serious about the game and every aspect of it. I dont see too many hints of true flames as you would see in SOE forums. But we shall see.

Depending on how strictly things are moderated on the official Vanguard forums, I think that makes a greater need for something like these boards. The official EQOA boards were not moderated quite as much as EQ2, if I recall, but off-site message boards became popular for several servers. (www.hodstock.com is still going, in fact, and I still check it out occasionally (yes, people are still playing EQOA). They even have a "flames" board there called "Middle School" which was generally the most popular forum (and not only for people on Hodstock, but from other EQOA servers as well).

[The site owner of hodstock.com, Kono, played (plays?) on Najena.]

Which, of course, is why I have a couple of monitors sitting on my coffee table.

Well there was'nt suppose to be any kind of official forums for vanguard either, but i'm not sure where they stand on that claim with the SOE merger. There could be an official forum there could not be one, if there isn't vgflames could be very popular...
