Going all the way to a 7800GS if you only have AGP, or a 7900GT if you have PCIE, it would feel like you are working on a Cray workstation relative to what you have now.
wow, that's a big improvement... yeah, I definately need to find some play money =)

I run eq2 at 1600x1200 on "balanced" or "high quality", Vanguard runs like shit even at 1024x768. I know this is a beta, but damn.
That's not strange since the 6600's arent very good and SLI isn't supported yet (usually slowing things down).

(edit: oops, saying the same as those above me >_<)

us retired people like to go off topic. From talking about retired to vg to pcs this is how we roll.

here is food for thought. If/When LFG Eventually Retires, should he close down this site?

I would think the anwser would be no.

see my point though?

The goal (if I ever get off my ass) is to have a collection of interconnected sites for specific games, where your user name and pw, and title works on each one. Then, when you switch games, your flame board changes skin color, but everything else about it is familiar.

So even if I retired from this game, I wouldn't shut down this site if people were still using it, unless the expense didn't justify the maintenance and administration.

Right on, I was using that as an example to show that there is absolutely nothing out of the norm for a retired player to be posting here though =o

you just happened to be the best example, because what if you Did retire? would they expect you not to post here either or think it was strange?

sounds good with the interchangeable sites

VG is a great game. If you are having performance issues in beta then you need to do the INI tweaks. That should really increase your FPS. Game play is great, the mechanics are really open. Eq2 mechanics were and still are very limited. Classes in VG are still needing to be worked on and i honestly feel we wont see them all at 100% until well after release. The world is HUGE, beautiful, and pretty fun really. The dungeons feel like dungeons and cities really do feel alive.

But being as it is beta and raids have been barely tested who knows what the end game will be like. What will mostly likely happen, as it happened in most MMOs to date is the 40-50 and raiding content will be tested by the people who get there first on live. Unfortunately they do not have unlimited time and money before they have to release a product. Though i really have hopes that the VG devs will listen to players and make a great game. Thats what i hoped with eq2 devs and they constantly let the raid community down imo.

Anyway eq2 is an ok game, but that's about it. Unfortunately the devs either do not have the ability to make it a great game, or the powers that be are not letting them. Who knows though~
