Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. In a few months when things have settled down, and if the game is still going strong, that's when I'll get into it.

Seeing as EQ2 really wasn't built for PvP, I'm surprised it's managed to retain such a strong PvP community. I expect AoC will be more rewarding though and a great deal of that community will leave. As for the PvE guys, well, there's not much to stick around in EQ2 for is there?

I don't see AoC killing EQ2. I don't see Aion killing EQ2 either. People will still play this silly broken crap, but I expect you'll see a lot of people leaving EQ2 to play AoC and Aion.

Or See Lineage 2.... I fear Aion will not be a hit in USA and Euro, but its a game that will become far stronger and more income then AoC will be simply because of Asia..

and AION lock far better then any fantasy MMO out right now...

Graphics are a MMO catch-22. I wish developers would stop going for box sales and focus on longevity.

Just to let you know some things about Funcom who created AoC. Their first MMO (Anarchy Online) is running close to 7 Years now. During this Time they buyed new Servers for all 3 Servers. You can play the Basic Game (without Expansions) for Free as long as you want. And at the End of this Year they Launch a complete new Engine (DX9 compared to DX7 now) for the Game.

As i started playing AO in 2003 (played 4 Years),i had a GM asking me,during the first few "Minutes" in the Game,if i needed Help. Unbelievable for an EQ2 Player isnt it?

One of the things i admire about Funcom now after seeing the Crap SOE is doing,that they recruit GM´s out of the Playerbase,and did for Years.

My guild lost exactly ONE people to AoC, so I don't see it being an EQ2 killer at all from my point of view. But that just me.

The only thing that can wipe out EQ2, is EQ2. Unfortunately, it's doing a pretty good job at the moment.

I really like it so far. EQ2 has certainly lost me. And for PC-power: I play AoC on my pent4 3GHz, 2 GB Ram, and a Geforce 7300 GT lol. It will certainly run smoother and more beautiful on my new one in a week or so, but I can play it, it doesn't really lag, and if you are used to FPS from EQ2 raiding, you can certainly stand this ;).
I love the combat system, it rocks as a melee (haven't tried casters yet). It actually does matter what button you hit when.

Can't wait to see the awesome graphics on my new sys.

Peeps that didn't like RoK questing might not like how this game starts off. Lots and lots and lots of questing (you can solo most of it till lvl 20). You level really quickly and I hope there is enough endgame for everyone
