You're stupid.
If you merge Splitpaw and Runnyeye (both fairly populated) you still have pretty empty lowbie zones. But you also get even more lag in raid instances cause there'll be even more raid guilds causing lag.
Maybe AoC will cause half the raid guilds to die, then a merge would be an option. Right now? No, thanks.

More incentives could also be implemented for people to level alts. Make leveling a little bit faster, by faster vitality regen?
|
Again: Don't be fucking stupid.
Even if you're uber casual you can hit t8 in a reasonable amount of time.
My last alt went from 1 to 70 in 4 days /played. (Or was it 3?). And no, I didn't spend any plat either.
Going from lvl 70 to 80 took me longer (due to more questing, boring faction grind for the epic and general slacking) than 1 to 70.
4 days /played isn't much even for Joe Casual. You could prolly do it in less than 10 days by just soloing. That's a lot less than it used to be.

Make the first 70 AA levels or so significantly faster? Do something about the transmute system so people once again can buy adept 1's and treasured gear cheaply?
|
You're stupid.
Who can't afford adp1's and treasured gear? Hell, even mc gear is cheap.
You mean new players? Ah, here's news for you:
The reason EQ2 isn't getting any new players is NOT its current economy or xp rate. The reason is that the game gets NO marketing at all, the game wasn't uber popular to begin with and it's bloody 4 years old.

And please, dont give me the that crap about leveling beeing too easy already, because YOU got from 1 to 80 in 2 weeks. Not everyone can play 16h/day,
|
Obviously you don't need to play 16 hours a day if you can hit t8 with like 4 days /played time.
1 or 2 years ago 15 days was considered quick. Now it's 5 days, lol.

EDIT: And in the end, this would help the highend game too. Some might find their enjoyment of the game revitalized if they got that new toon to 80, instead of getting stuck and quitting them in the 40's/50's.
|
I doubt that.
Most people have a bunch of alts that are lvl 70 to 80 and have seen EVERY bit of casual content there is over and over again. Most people cant be arsed to roll new alts to see Runnyeye, Fallen Gate and stuff AGAIN. I loved those instances but after running countless alts through em....
Sure, it's fun once in a while but after 4 years we've just seen it all.
The game's dying cause it's old (hence nobody wants to experience the old content over and over again) and cause the endgame sucks (so hardly anybody wants to progress there either).
