Of course with the completion of a quest, more xp was received. You cannot do the quest over when at the appropriate lvl cause you have already completed the quest and you cannot receive a quest that you are too low for.
Aoc is ok cause it is new and different, but not sure about the longjevity atm, for me that is. Still trying to figure out what I am striving for besides lvls cause the loot there sucks donkey balls.

you mean like eq2 did at launch ? everyone got to 50 asap, then all there was was a handful of contested raid mobs, heritage quests or harvesting to do....and yes 99.9% of the gear sucked balls as well.

OMG EQ2's not dying! Please don't leave!! It's not dying honest!!!!
I'm afraid it is though kids. Even flames seems quiet these days. Yes there's traffic, and yes there's still people posting, but it doesn't seen to be anywhere near the hive of activity it once was.. And flames will outlast EQ2, so... I think that says a lot.

Fuck sake let's turn it into another AoC thread cos none of us are sick of hearing about it - oh wait - yes we are.
The game wont die and neither will Flames, in the latter case because it's inconceivable that you wouldnt have anywhere else to go to do your WHINING about a game you no longer play. You played it, you loved it, you now hate it - so just fuck off with your bad karma

Define die.
EQOA is basically as dead as can be. No fucking updates, no planned expansions, tiny as hell playerbase. SOE still runs it, so it's *technically* alive. And hey, what ever happened to the Matrix Online and Star Wars Galaxies? Seems pretty consistent for SOE games to fall flat on their asses.
So if EQ2 hits that point, which atm it looks like it's headed on a crash course with, are you going to preach that the game isn't dead?
Fact of the matter is, SOE has driven this game down the shitter and the population just keeps shrinking. If they would get off their lazy asses and actually fucking attempt to make this game as good as it could be, many of us would come back. I mean, I'd love to come back. I just see no fucking reason to.

Yup yup. Pretty much in the same boat. Unfortunately, they would have to undo a lot of design decisions they made with RoK, and thereafter, though, and I just don't see that happening.

Re: Eq2 standing the test of time for the right reasons
To die - as in to cease all activity permanently, cease to exist or function.
Sooooo, the only thing that died around here is your interest in EQ2 - not EQ2 itself. You know what they say, all good things come to an end - EQ2 will end one day, until that day arrives however, I'll play it OR until there's no more enjoyment left for me (whichever comes first)..... THEN I'll haunt the boards and talk shite about something which may still be evolving in my absence - oh wait - no I wont.

Re: Eq2 standing the test of time for the right reasons
Give AoC 6 months and we'll see how many of those "record breaking" 700K+ preorders are still playing it. The game was so incredibly hyped that it was almost bound to not live up to people's expectations. And then it went live, probably too early for it's own good (although they dont have a nearly unlimited dev budget like EA/Mythic so they sort of had to push it out), and people realized that it wasn't this incredible revolutionary new thing. It was just another virtual world, like many before it, with a different backstory and its own share of bugs and poor game design choices.
But it has tits, blood, and DX10.. can I get an amen, brotha? Can I get a fuckin hallelujah?
