If my guild is any indication, then yes, EQ2 is thriving. We've grown by 50% in the past two weeks. Maybe some folks just need to move on.

Your guild is not an indication.

Probably the people who wanted to stay and play EQ2 after their guilds folded. (because of the mass exodus).

I know of 4 longtime guilds on befallen that folded in the last month or so.

Dawn of Evolution merged with Circle of the Greater Wyrm, if that is one of them you're thinking of.

Though Order of the Black Dragon collapsed. That surprised me.

And it had nothing to do with AoC.

Was that sarcasm?

I heard it was over raiding drama or something.

Uhh. This is an odd request, but ok. Hard working dude that grew up on a farm. Took good care of us, and still doing well. He just turned 50 on Monday. I bought him a '61 Ford 8n for his birthday so he can get to the back acre of land he owns and bush-hog it. Thanks for asking.

Its not. Plus you're on AB, you don't count. Wierdo RPers will always exist.

After the fact, I realized you didn't bring up AoC. Lately, it seems to be the rage to cite Conan as the reason people are quitting.

It IS one of the core reasons why people are quitting, but the raid content is also a factor.

I'm hoping they somehow get decent devs to make the next expansion good. I won't get my hopes up though. I mean, it is SOE.

My favorite expansion so far was EOF. What, I liked it. ;P

Or something like that. There are holes to work out but it can work.
The problem with that is if you mentored up too much and got scaled down disco AA at say lvl 40 that you were meant to get at lvl 80, you would be jipping yourself out of AA later on in the game. That and if they give out AA while mentored, you could just mentor up to 80 and get all the disco AA from lvl 1-69 zones without ever getting attacked. Even then, you would be jipping yourself out of a huge amount of xp/AA due to scaling.

Same thing goes for quests, if you are allowed to mentor up to do quests, you could polish off most of the HQs or hallmark quests that allow for a NPC turn in, un-mentor, then turn in the quest for a huge amount of xp with little effort. Or if it scaled, then you would screw yourself out of xp/aa.

Gotta protect people who are too dumb to protect themselves. Kinda like real life.
