Why have leveling at all if you can mentor up to the cap?

Well, if it was like AoC, it doesn't scale at 100%.

In AoC when you mentor up you only get increased hp/sta/mana, better to hit and a bit increased damage. You don't get any of your new combos or skills and lower level mobs still aggro you.

yeah i was replying to the guy who was claiming rubbish about eq2 launch being super shit compared to Aoc.
ive not logged in eq2 now for about 2-3 weeks and counting!
my only turn off point with AoC, is the way they separated their servers, and no cross mixing unless u buy a copy from the zone ( Usa / Euro ) which involves someone from them country's buying for you, installing a 2nd version with said purchased copy's retail key and paying for a 2nd sub.
no more hot American chicks accent in vent for me

Or something like that. There are holes to work out but it can work.
I really hate this idea. Being able to mentor-up a level one to level 80 would be a chinese plat farmer's wetdream cum true.

I can't believe I'm the first one to call carebear on this thread. lololol

...it did become readable converting into another AoC thread I guess. /shrug

TBH AoC doesn't end EQ2, it's just something better to do than log into QH, decide there isn't anything fun to do in Norrath after checking your mail and broker, chatting a little without zoning, and then logging back out (not an uncommon scenario really)....oh yea and boobies make for better cyb0rz.

If standing the test of time for the right reasons means consistantly losing subscriptions with each new expansion release, and the only large influx of people being the galaxies refugees.....

Then I agree EQ2 is standing up over the long run........riiiiight

Isnt SoE not gonna be around for much longer anyways? I thought I read somewhere they were getting merged with another sony corp.
