it's nothing new that soe hires people new to the mmo business - and they leave as soon they get better offers. nearly each mmo studio out there has devs that have been "pulled" from soe.
most of em upgrade by this...

Maybe if you guys all keep talking shit, one of you will finally die of retardation.

Turnover in the game design industry is always high. To remain in the same position or even the same project for more than 5 years is career suicide. Game designers want a broad resume that span several different specialties. It preps them for the production roles later on.

EQ2 is not unique in that developer and team leads leave for other companies and/or other projects. I think at last count there was about 1 or 2 people out of 65 on the Blizzard WoW development team that actually started at Blizzard. EA's development teams are now 90% made up of Mythic immigrants. And, there are zero original team members on the Bioware staff.

Most of you here need to knock off the "I know how to fix a corporation better than they do. I just prefer my job at Piggly Wiggly" attitudes and admit that you have absolutely no knowledge about the online gaming industry besides what you read on the back of the fucking box.

What a joke these threads are. Somebody moves on to another position and everyone crawls out of the woodwork like roaches to take personal and professional jabs at somebody they don't even know. Not only that.. have no idea what they did during their time with SOE because its likely you wouldn't even clear a background check at the SOE entrance.

Bitch and moan all you like about the various developers, producers and community coordinators. It is the Internet after all. For some people it is a source of information and communication. For others, its a way to stretch their nutsacks without risk of somebody breaking their nose before they finished their third word if they were to say it in person.

Are you saying that only 1 or 2 of the original devs from WoW are still working on it?

I remember earlier when Saddam Hussein challenged George W. Bush to a one-on-one duel. Which was as silly and archaic as this analogy has grown to become.

We don't dwell on project-to-project personnel transfers. When seeing that a "hub of MMO entertainment" like SOE doesn't have a single worthwhile project for the people leaving EQ2, what is your natural response?

If I understood him correctly, Lyndro might not necessarily seek to work on another MMO, but rather expand his portfolio in the gaming industry?

If Lyndro was the team lead and project manager of RoK he shouldn't have been able to leave on his own terms, he should have been fired.
