The reasoning given to the players for no server merges in EQOA was that the hardware would not allow it, although I don't believe that.

This wouldn't be the first one for EQ2...or EQ1 for that matter. EQOA just sucked from day one so....shrug.

Although it would help it does however show that the game is going through hard times. We all know its been going on for some time now but it is worse as of late. Soe's struggle to keep their pride and joy above water, desperately doing everything they can all the while doing it completely wrong.

Server merges could help, but over time, could cause negative effects. Say AoC doesn't work out, a lot come back to a server they don't recognize or like. Hell, with this new Legends thing they are advertising...people get a month for free if they canceled and their accounts are in good standings if I recall correctly.

They are trying to do too much in too little time in my opinion. But thats just me.
