The official response that I got from "customer service" was that the offer didn't apply to accounts that have been inactive less than 60 days. I guess this is SOE's way of punishing people that went to try AoC. I quit due to server population issues, but if SOE wants to exclude me from their offer so be it. I just think they found yet another way to let some customers know how unimportant they are.

Not that I feel entitled to anything, but fuck all you current subscibers for having issues with this. I played up until a few months ago, from launch day for heavens sake. I paid them a shit ton of money over that time that I feel they spent more time counting than actually improving a shitty game.

People bitch about the emptiness they feel on servers and then when SOE tries something to populate the servers, they bitch again. So fucking what if people got to play ROK for free. I can think of hundreds of old games I paid full price for only to become free down the road. It's a stale expansion anyways so what's it going to hurt to bring back some old faces.

Couple months ago, I almost reunited with my friends who started a new guild on a new server. The only reason I never came back after saying I would (for which I apologize) is because I didn't want to give SOE my credit card again. But hell, I may just have to log in again.

The problem is is the fact that they are giving away so freaking much to ppl who quit this game and not doing anything for the ppl who are here except offer them free time for bringing ppl to this shitty game.
I wouldve completely understood giving returning players free play time 2 months 3 months fine but then to also give them rok for free thats a lil far-fetched. I understand they want ppl to try it and get in where the ppl are playing today well they could easily have only flagged these ppl during there free months and once that was over offered the ppl to buy it at even half price would have been fine but at least get something for it. Then it only gets worse they get some cool new shinny objects and on top of that they get 5$ off the next expansion. And we get to beg ppl to come to SoE's greedy outstretched hands for free months.
Seriously you do not see a problem with that?

Like I said earlier, damned if you do and damned if you don't. That should be Sony's motto because no matter what they try and do to get players into the game, some whaaa-face on these boards will try and talk them down for it. Seriously, people complain the game is dying and then they come out with this great offer for people who used to play and it only fuels more complaints. If the game is so terrible and its so hard to bear being on it, then quit and don't come back.

Make fan-boi comments if you like but that isn't what this is about. Its about reading an entire thread of cry babies and being annoyed by it.

That's exactly the reason I won't bother taking the time to reinstall/download/patch the steaming pile of shit I left over 6 months ago. Free isn't worth the cost in time alone.

I pay for 5 accounts, 4 that are mine and 1 that is my Gf's.

Its frustrating as a long time customer that pays so much monthly to see other people who quit get shit for free, what about the people currently playing? many of whom are on the verve of quitting altogether.

I could care less that i'm personally not getting free playtime for the next two months, but i can certainly see how players who are teetering on the way out would be upset.

Hopefully we'll see the flood of people coming back to play, and help populate the broker with masters.

Had an old friend pop on last night, was good to see him, but when he asked me if he should considering coming back to play on the 2 nights of the week he's free, i couldn't honestly tell him its worth it.

I still like this game, i would play this over conan without question.

To each his own i guess.
