I'm not spending any more for marginal graphics performance on EQ2. So TG lag is their problem not mine.
EQ2 is a heavily CPU dependent game. If you use your computer mostly for EQ2, you will see by far the most gains from upgrading to the best dual core CPU on the market. Quads are irrelevant and completely useless since the game is not multi threaded, but having the 2nd core there to bind the EQ2 executable affinity to will work. Run all the other apps (ACT/Ventrilo/all windows resident programs) on one core and EQ2 on another. A quad core will generally be clocked lower than a good dual core and thus will only hurt your EQ2 performance.

My suggestion: get one of the 45nm Wolfdale chips, they are fantastic. I have an E8400 ($190 on newegg atm) and it EASILY overclocks to 4.0ghz on air cooling. Stable. Lightning fast. I play at 2560x1600 on absolute max settings, including complex shaders. It's gorgeous. =)

I have a PC that can run 2 accounts at the same time with +- 90 FPS.

BUT, somestimes I peak at likes 3000 ping, and sometimes ONLY on one acc while dualing... WHY ? Thats non-sense.. If my internet was the probleme, wouldn't they lag the two of them ?

Oh and yeah, even If I play only 1 account I still peak at 3k ping.. but thats not ALL the time.

Someone know how to fix this ?

If you're gonna perform a speed test using speedtest.net and want to see your ping rate for EQ2 (well, kind of) ---when you choose a server to perfrom the test, choose one in California. Speedtest.net highlights a server closest to you as their "recommended" server to test on and of course it will give the best results but, EQ2 servers are in California (I believe) and that's where you internet connection has to go to connect with SOE servers.

As far as lowering ping, I'm no expert but I would suggest using that [lower ping response] in a Google search and maybe you'll find something.

good luck.

On a separate note.............................................. .................................

How 'bout that announcement for an added live chat feature in upcoming update #47. Nice to see them add more features to the game that will be sure to add more lag.

The only place I lag to hell currently is NFP. But that's due to the world event.

Lots of people bitching about going LD and general lagginess on runnyeye last night.

Seemed fine to me, but maybe thats cos my ping is abysmally bad even on a good night...

We had that too, but it's most certainly not SoE related. Ping would steadily climb to 2500 in steps of 100, then half the raid drops, and it's back to normal again. Only the English/German members of my guild had that, Russia and U.S. seemed fine, so some carrier in between must have (had) hiccups. Had the same today, but to a much lesser extent.

Yup and also makes The Tangrin a much more enjoyable encounter when your raid goes linkdead for 30 secs!
