The answer is never go into an instance with a non-guildmate if this scenario is going to be a problem for you. It's a game fact that the 6th group member, if not a guildie, will always win the master. It's in the game coding.
If the person who could 'really use' the rare master can't be bothered to go with you from time to time, there's not really any reason to bust your ass getting them stuff either.
Rolling need then sending the non guildie plat (of an amount probably nowhere near what they could get for a 'rare' master) is bullshit, and doesn't resolve the asshat move of cheating them out of a master.
Effectively, that 6th person was 'used' by the guild because they couldn't do the instance with only 5 people, but they weren't willing to give them full share of any loot that dropped - no matter what.

If you read the thread carefully you see where he admits that the person he hit need for was actually one of his own alts, this wasn't anywhere near as altruistic ("I rolled for a guildmate") as he made it sound in chat.
He's since transferred off the server (again). So Unrest gets to deal with this for a while, till he transfers back (again).
I think its unrest, that's what someone said in chat but I could be wrong, I was just happy he was gone. This lack of moral fibre bothers me tremendously, and people who say "its just a game" are fools IMHO - your behavior in game reflects your general moral outlook, yes it really is a game but the behavior you display isn't confined to a game. Its who you are.
