How many people farmed a non-upgraded master and actually looted it?

So this is the question... how many people farmed a non-upgraded master and actually looted it? In T7 everyone used to do Poets Palace and whatnot and I thought they were out of their god damned fucking minds.

Sold the masters I looted that I didn't need, and then bought the masters I did need. Was fully mastered on both of my toons by mid-Feb this time around.

I can see where you are trying to go with this thread, and no, obtaining masters shouldn't be trivial and certainly not purchased off a merchant for a nominal price..

What is with everyone feeling entitled to the best just because they pay the same as everyone else?

In EoF, I used to do Poet's up to 3 times a day most days so I got a lot of 55 and 58 AT masters that didn't get upgraded but I already had them all so I wasn't doing it for the upgrades, just for plat.

The odds of farming a specific master you need are so bad, that you'd have better odds of getting it by standing at the broker and checking for it every 15 minutes then by going out there and actually farming it. I always wondered if the people that try to farm a specific master ever took a simple course in statistics.

On a conjy I had I farmed for Planeshift and got it in a group... ended up with 2 copies of it. Sold the other for decent plat.

Farmed dispatch for god knows how long and one night I got lucky kuz both dispatch AND double up dropped in courts in dof.

Never saw those masters after that though,except on broker.

FAIL.

What the op is getting at is t6 masters for spells that don't get upgraded. For example I have a swashy and want a hurricane master, have I ever gone and tried farming for it and/or obtained it. Maybe he wants to know if attemping to farm for it is a viable method or should he just wait for it to appear on the broker.

Yeah, its pretty nice. It dropped for a guildie off of one of those solo bugbear doggie type things in steamfront. She got a server disco, probably a WW disco, I keep forgetting to check, and gave it to me for my alt cause I was the only mystic in the guild.

Just wanted to rub that in. In fact, I think my mystic has all of his non-upgraded masters, but my assassin main is still missing 2.

The masters do still appear on the broker - though somewhat rarer and quickly bought up - same principle though ... expect to have to pay for them.

And why do I say this? Because I went through a period not too long ago of buying up the non-upgraded T6 ancients and relisting them on the broker at a huge margin ... and they sold. Think I still have copies of double up, savante, numbing cold amongst others lying around or on the broker.
