This isn't meant in any bad way I'm just really confused...

Are you saying you won't play EQ1 because it's not pretty?

Well comparing EQ2 and EQ1 graphically is like comparing Jessica Alba to Sloth from Goonies.

ROFL - nice!!

How true - If only Eq1 graphics were anything close to today's standards - a shitload of peeps I believe would be playing. Nothing like eq1's risk v. reward - and never will be. Games are so dumbed down now for the casual player - MMO's can never go back. Even though graphics arent everything - EQ1 is just too horrid.

Maybe SOE can find a middle ground and come out with EQ3 soon - /sarcasm off

My favorite game I purposely downgraded the graphics so I could see what i was shooting easier. Im shocked that someone even includes graphics as a con in the gameplay. They are always a bonus if done better! OF course I know a few games where the graphics were literally too bad ;p

I am sure the game would be awesome if you had no graphics (a black screen, nothing else).

But, yeah, I understand what you mean.
Gameplay > Graphics.

raids in everquest are also double the size of wow raids, raids can go upto 72 people. all 72 people need to understand the fight, and do there jobs,.
That is bullcrap. Poeple think that EQ1 is hard bcuz you must spend tons and tons of hours in it. But the game is dam easy to play now (since you dont need any CC anymore).

To make it quick.

EQ1 raid require usualy a dam easy strategie. But even if you do everything right. You might whipe bcuz Raid boss vs player item lvl have a big difference. (Like evevn fi your whole guild is T3 geared, Jumping on T4 stuff will be dam hard)

WoW raid are kinda complex. (a way mroe then EQ1 raid). Just The netherdrake in kara require a 100% coordinatiion. And it is T1 raid.
but if you follow the strategi well. You will win the fight easely.

Jumping on T4 raid with a guild that is not even fully T3 geared is easy if everyone know how to play.

If you go play EQ1 you will find the game extreamly simple to play (if you dont play a bard), but dam long.

Don't fully ourself. The hardest EQ1 raid require what ? killing 2 mobs withing the same 20sec. Or that only priest class can do the killing blow otherwise the mob resurect ?

or making a macro so everytime an NPC say the word "bow" their is a sound macro leting you knwo that you must stop to move or you will be 1shotted by archer ?

In some WoW raid the same encounter require have those 3 things.

This is harder choice than I thought it'd be. Some people are saying that EQ1 is the mother of all raiding games (and not only in that it started the phenomenon), and others are putting it down.

Finally.

Could you Illuziun expand on 'why it is pointless to HC raid in EQ2'. And Yzyh, is your experience of the raids how recent? I know the first Wow raids (molten core/bore) are not comparable with the raids today, since they are so straightforward nuking, healing and tanking..

lol no gfx aren't the most important thing far from it, i just dont wanna go back and play a game that looks like it was designed for the C64 because that day and age has passed.
Like so many other old great games, they've had thier day.

If something fresh was bought to the table like a new engine, i might consider it.

BTW the person who says they're still playing EQ1 you are WRONG. You can level to max in weeks now not months or years. It has been changed. I know many EQ1 vets who have returned to the game and have started over rather than dusting off their PoT characters. However 70-80 will slow down, to be expected though.

EQ1 is not immune to change, they've had as many expansions as EQ2 and yes much of what we see in EQ2 has been also included in part to EQ1.

Oh and I'd also like to point out that back in my day I can remember having groups outside the 72 person limit doing things like Rallos Zek. Ahh the boars the boars! I think we had 100 people once lol. Kind of crazy but those are the things you remember.
