Default Calling All Raid Tanks (MT or OT)

I'm writing an article for a gaming website and my topic is on Raid Tanking.

Raid Tanks - MT or OT, those who wish to participate, please feel free to post your answers below.

Also, post the guild, server, and your character name so that you can get credit.

The only information I need is this:

Someone comes to you and wants to be a raid tank. What are the top three things that they simply MUST know? (Only three answers, please.)

(If a common theme starts to bubble up, I will consolidate the answers and give a "thanks to" at the end of the article.)

Thanks for your participation!

1. Use the tabulator in crowded zones to switch between targets with ease.
2. If your health goes down, turn your back to the mobs. Your physical mitigation is highest in the back (only plate armor), and shields get a 5% bonus against rear attacks. You generate less aggro this way, but survivability soars.
3. Move around a lot. Your scouts have positional attacks, and they can't use them all if you don't move and turn the mobs every few seconds.

The rest is button mashing.

1. Only use taunts. Tanks are not DPS, they should not be focusing on it.
2. Mitigation is king, always choose your equipment according to this.
3. For your AAs, max out every base stat, and if you're a warrior the entire Wisdom line is a must-have.

okies, hmmmm.

1. Make sure not to outparse anyone, ever, for any reason. You should be at the bottom of the parse. It's not your job to dps, it's your job to tank.
2. Taunts are over-rated. Using taunts breaks up your combat art timing so it's best not to use them in raids at all if you can avoid it.
3. Don't bother trying to save squishies. Consider them to be an extra buffer of defence for the raid, their hit points could save someone more important from dying.

Not trying to be a dick or anything, but did you really expect the wonderful community here not to be complete smartasses off the bat?

I'm sure you'll get a legit post eventually mafoe.... maybe.

Edit~ By legit I mean someone actually posting good info

1. Learn your class. How it gets agro and keeps it. actually DO what it is your class does to get and keep agro; and know the abilities you have that will keep you vertical.
2. Keep your plated ass put. Stand still so your healers can heal you. PLANT THAT MOB. Know where your scouts need to be, make sure they can get there.
3. It is not your job to tell the healers how to heal. They know their job (presumably) and most of em HATE to be told by someone who is not a healer how to heal.

beside paying attention and having an average IQ there is nothing hard to know about tanking this game was (is still? havent played in over 7 months) too easy.
