Yes I still enjoy the heroic and raid content. I don't dig the seb/chardock places but, I also hated the hell out of SoS/PoA. Guess I never liked the dungeon zones.

I still enjoy the game. I enjoy it a lot, actually. Yesterday, and I know this isn't a huge accomplishment for most of you, but yesterday, I managed to get my third toon to lvl 70. I've got two that are at 80, one with 137 AA one with 140. My new level 70 fury hit 100AA about 60 minutes before she hit 70.

And you know what? It was fun. It was fun leveling her, doing a ton of HQs on her for my guild (my wife and I are the only members in it, so if we want guild rewards, we gotta work for them), and now that I'm in RoK, I don't expect that fun to end anytime soon.

Now. Am I an EQ know-it-all? Yes. I've done almost every instance more times than I can count and more often than not if I'm not on my guardian I'm telling the tank where to go and what to do. Almost have to. Does this make me an annoying person? I don't doubt it. But on the other hand, I spend the time I'm on answering questions, telling people where to go for zones and levels and quests and class stuff and everything else... which in turn helps them have a better time playing. I enjoy doing that. I enjoy helping the community. Hell, I even rolled a /guide toon once. Didn't like the restrictions placed on the account, but I tried.

I don't raid and I don't see a lot of reason to do so. Yes, I'm sure a thousand other players find it fun but for me, once I hit the level cap, there are still other things to do. Level alts. Level my wife's alts. Buy house items. Quest. Get appearance gear. I've got 7 odd sets of clothes for my tank alone... 3 or 4 for my fury... 2 or 3 for my necromancer. Obtain epics, prismatics.

I won't lie. Sony does some ballbreakingly stupid things sometimes.
But for where I live IRL, MMOs are pretty much the only escape offered aside from eating, sports, and fucking... and you can only do so much eating before it becomes hard to do a lot of fucking.

*shrugs*

as a former tank there's nothing more annoying then somebody telling you directions to a zone you've run 50 times already

After a 2 year break I find myself enjoying the game more than ever. I guess b/c I missed all the fun, I'm having fun. I raid, I like it, but I also like questing and levelling. Yes, the game has issues. Yes, sometimes I wonder WTF SoE is thinking but this is my second time returning and this time I've stayed longer than the other times.

So yes, people still enjoy the game. Except I hate crafting, I don't know how you people do it.

Raiding is still fun...most of the time.

Farming gets old and boring, esp since theres really nothing to spend money on that you can't get from raiding. So you buy all your master spells then what?

Honestly the big problem imo: AA's were wayyyy too easy to get.

If they install some sort of AA system like EQ1 or even EQOA the staying power/longevity of the game would benefit.

You log in to continue to get AA's and it gives you a reason to run zones multiple times. Plus when new content is released you are still working on the same AA trees.

The objection to this I'm sure is that if you were starting out you'd have to grind for a long period of time to catch up. My solution this: aa potions. Much like the xp or tS ones these specfically allow you to advance the AA bar. If there's a lvl cap on them or they are only given to toons starting out at lvl 1 it would prevent higher lvled aa speced players from using, thus allowing a catch up process.

Idk. Just riffing on how to keep this old mule running, because fundementally it really is the best thing out there.

Hadaec:
To be fair, I don't tell people how to do it that know how to do it. I only tell the ones that admit they have no clue or start running around doing things so blessedly stupid I'm surprised they figured out how to move their fingers and hands in such a way that would facilitate communication in an online enviornment.

I quit after returning for about 3 months (maybe 2 months played) Bought all the exp packs etc and I found the content was WAY too repetitive and linear and have almost 0 dynamics to it.

What Do I mean by that? Everywhere you went it was like fighting the same monsters over and over and over with very little difference in how mob A acted from Mob b to Mob c.

The Itemization was way to fucking linear. Mind you I didnt hit 80 (only about 72 before i packed it in) but up till that point I dont think I looted and equipped a single fucking item. I mean come on if I wanted to only use crafted shit I would be a crafter but the average player didn't have any choice but to wear full MC. I guess they never paid attention to Horizons as I believe thats as the number 1 thing that killed it was there was NO LOOT. People like to find a peice of gear that is actually better then theres and not just "vendor trash", in these cases the monsters might as well just drop coin and save the player time. Oh wait nm they want worthless time sinks.

Lastly the population of the servers is absolutely laughable, as someone mentioned previously seeing 2 people in EFP was fairly normal. I just cannot see this game surviving another expansion, it will simply thin out the population even more by spreading out the population more. They would be far better off to just update/revamp the old world zones, that way the population remains spread among the same number of zones and does not become lopsided with everyone except 2 people in the expansion lands.

Bottom line, Eq2 is deader then dead, and should quietly be put out of its misery.

It sounds like you did a lot of soloing Kelstat, which no you won't get the best loot, but if you got to 72 you should have done most of the kp quests and if there wasn't anything in there that you didn't deem an upgrade then you really don't know what you're looking for.
