Well actually, quite a bit because I'm not a graphics whore focused 100% on appearance -- I play with my barbie dolls for that.

Comparing what AoC offers now in terms of visual effects to EQ2 before appearance slots is way off target. You would have to assume that everyone was the same race in order for that to be justified. But thats fine, enjoy the bland flavor of seeing the same looking toons everyday. As long as it makes you happy right?

Yeah actually, I have this strange habit of focusing on the gameplay instead of the graphics. In fact, I even tweak my graphics down in any game that I don't get 60+ fps in order to get the best performance I can.
People always say I'm crazy for that.

Regardless, I'm honestly confused wtf you want to see in a game about Conan lore. I mean, I know Arnold played Conan in the movies but would a terminator race really fit into the lore well?

Anytime!

Considering the content of the rest of this thread, a heavy dose of quality was needed.

When I looked at AoC and got some feedback from old friends, and heard about some of the bugs, the V word came to my mind immediately (+anguard). So I didn't bother buying it. Looks like I was right, in the short term anyway.

Edit: Forgot to add I'm happily living an EQ2 and AoC-free existence! zomg!

I think most people have become comfortable with their current games that they forget how launches can be... in the end its about the core game-play ideas that they have... the bugs are stuff that they work out eventually.

As far as I know, AoC has better graphics than EQ2. I wasn't trying to dispute that point. I did say that AoC was limited in that all the races look the same, and they do.

Dude all of the races are human... so there is only 1 race in the game... from different areas of the world.

IMO EQ2 has fantastic graphics. I doubt people left for AoC's graphics. Decapitations can only keep your attention for so long, even if you do take your Ritalin.

And I'm saying who the fuck really cares, and why should they? I mean EQ2 on the settings I raided on everybody was indistinguishable blobs pretty much.

Does it affect gameplay in any way whatsoever? As far as I can tell you're not even arguing for racial traits, so no. It's nothing but a waste of fucking development time, especially when you take a look at EQ2 and realize they have to make every piece of armor in the entire game for every freaking race combination because they're idiots that lied back at E3 before the game launched.

And from a lore standpoint, what races would you add into AoC anyway? And how, exactly, would you fit them into the destiny quests?

In the end, disliking a game for issues that don't affect gameplay in any way whatsoever is retarded. It's that kind of dumb thinking that makes people think Crysis is better than the original Half-Life.

If you dislike AoC because you don't like the combat or overall content, FINE. Because you don't have 5 foot tall frogs hopping around? WTF?
