ok i ll say it LOTRO has more subs then eq2, AoC has more subs then eq2, WOW we know does....wonder why if its the better game then why are people sill playing all the others .......eq2 isnt harder than any of those so its not the skill level....and graphics are only 1 part of it....so Why play eq2 over the rest....only reason i think of is the people and you know somehting more and more of my friends leave for a diff. game my reasoning for playing eq2 is going away.......

I really think it's either SOE's name on the product that drives potential players away, or the fact that SOE's advertising sucks and people go "wait what that has a SEQUEL?!"

While this is actually a good point, being that if SOE made WoW there'd be just as many subscribers as EQ2 has... And for that matter if Blizzard made EQ2 there'd be millions of subscribers for it.

EQ2, in it's current state, really does suck shit compared to so many MMOs. I blame stupidity for people still playing it.

Graphics are important to most. If every character in eq2 was a simple jello cube, I doubt many would have started subscribing, specially the casual gamers that bring in the coin.

Yep, couldn't agree more. Everyone (repeat - everyone) I know IRL playing MMOs, plays WoW. You can imagine the amount of "peer pressure" I'm under on a daily basis. And the vast majority of those says that they're enjoying the WoW graphics more than the EQ2 graphics. Most commonly I hear peeps say that the WoW graphics are uniformly cartoonish, whereas EQ2 has high quality graphics mixed with cartoonish graphics - which is true when I look around certain places... sometimes it seems as if EQ2 doesn't have a uniform graphics department. The peeps who work on the monsters don't ever meet with the player char or background graphics designers.

So I know ~15 WoW players and I'd say 12 of them play WoW mostly due to the graphics.

Just thought I should throw that into the discussion... please continue.

Playing AOC and cancelling all shit pertaining to the bloody crap stain that is EQ2, barely a notch above the shit stain that is Vanguard. (for good now)

Reflecting, I cant even believe I subjected myself to gameplay of the EQ2 PVE environments. ITS SHIT, utter SHIT.

Good for about 200 hours, then its off to raiding broken content where logging on is a fucking chore from day 1. Loot rotting the 2nd flipping time you are in the zone, thank you PR, you TURD of a zone in an abortion of an expansion.

I cant even believe in retrospect I stooped to playing EQ2 while waiting for Conan, let alone PVE server. I curse the wasted time farming lame shit and grinding 70-80 on the piece of shit server known as AB.
