I don't necessarily agree with it, but (legitimized) RMT is the wave of the future for online gaming. It's still in it's infancy phase now and struggling for acceptance, but it'll catch on soon enough. It's already HUGE in Asia, they're waiting for the Western market to get onboard though.

There was a lot of talk about it at this year's GDC in February. Give it 2, 5, 10 years, and (for better or worse) it'll be mainstream in most online communities.

While normally I actually agree with your posts this one thing I never will. (this is coming from someone who just hit 80 btw on a real server again...)


The reason why there is only one trak killing guild is becuase the majority of the people on the server dont want to put in the nesicarry work to kill trak... It has so little to do with skill its disgusting....

Anyone can learn to kill track anyone can learn to watch the det effects window anyone can learn casting order ANYONE can learn to dps... guess what if you cant do the leveling more likely than not you WONT be willing to put in the work to properly raid either... You guys actually believe it or not have a very easy time compared to other servers on the bazaare game mechanics wise.. Where else can someone buy morphling's character which no matter what you or anyone else says helps considerably??? Nowhere... It gives you a great advantage and its still hard as fuck to kill shit on the bazaare even with other people buying characters... Guess why?? Its becuase the majority of the people that play on that server are LOSERS... earning your gear and levels inheritanly does for some reason force you to be better at your class and while there are certainly expections to this rule the majority of the bazaare dont follow the expection.

There are alot of great players in EL but dont think for a moment the bazaare isnt a complete shit hole...

LOL yes Rintin we're all a bunch of broke ass sore losers who can't get mommy to buy us an "uber" toon of our own....

OR we're a bunch of people who actually put the time into learning the encounters and beating them ( except trak which was handed to everyone on a platter ) and earning our gear.

Epic fail. did you even read the entire article? I doubt it.

1) myself or that article never implied that average mmo players were a bunch of poor high school and college kids. Only middle class income who would not be willing and/or able to waste extra money on a game. when they have things like bills to pay, children to feed, etc etc etc...

2) the main, and likely only arguments against RMT, are a bunch of non-logical rants about how its unfair that they had/or chose to work so hard but someone else can just buy a toon of the same quality. Ergo, the person buying it is a cheating scum bag because saying that makes me feel better about what I worked my butt off earning.

3) hand in hand with #2. to quote you:
then why do you care if some scrub buys a toon? they aren't effecting your personal game play. Jealous they bought their way to your level?

4) I didn't buy my VP gear, epic, and avatar loot. I earned it the same as any other raider. putting in the time, earning dkp, and bidding on it.

5) eq2 is a fail game I no longer play.

I challenge you to post one. If you find a single article with a logical argument against RMT, meaning nothing with even a hint of jealousy in it and full of facts, then I will never post on this subject again.

And just so your not confused. I'll re-quote a prime example of illogical jealousy.
It's good that you put the time in, learned the encounters, and had fun. but it still doesn't change the fact that some scrub buying a toon of the same level as you does not effect your game play or make the experience's you had any less enjoyable.

yeah i suck and i dont know how to play my toon .... but i can parse 6k+

i want to get into a guild where everyone in the guild can play their toons to the ABSOLUTE BEST as they can.. also i have a life so i dont want to be in a guild that raids 7days a week.. there are plenty of guilds around the servers where that is the case.. here on the Bazaar server there is ONE guild that i can choose from where everyone plays their toon to the fullest, but they start to early for me and raid 7days a week, and they have 2 wizards already

and yes i bought my toon and yes i know how to play him and compete with the best.. so fuck all you people that say "you bought a toon that you didnt earn" cus i really really really reeeaaallllyy dont give a fuck.

people criticize the wow community for being childish. That may be when it comes to chuck Norris jokes in open channels.

But thus far I've seen far less jealous crying about RMT from them.

I'll take a playful childish community over a bunch of jealous elitist pricks any day.
