Meh, Templars are overpowered because of their control avoidance?

I still give Mystics the nod because they can heal more effectively and pump out pretty nice damage. Epic isn't bad either if memory serves.

Pretty much, plus they buff the group by like 2.5K? HPs which is higher than any other priest.

bout templar in every group... i guess you could easily do the same with mystics. also possibly with defilers although that might result in dps issues. while they dont buff as much hp, perma-running the groupward does basically the same (increasing the damage the group can take from AEs without dieing)

Templars also effectively get a group cure for everything depending on your raid. They also get sanctuary, they also get an arcane group ward(which is basically a single-target ward for EACH person in the group while it's up, unlike a normal group ward which gets used up if anybody takes damage, not just 1 person therefore the group ward doesn't increase the group's HP).

They also have Blessings, Diving Arbitration, Steadfast(one of the most overpowering things in-game), they add Haste to the group as well. They are just that overpowered.

Mystics are a far 2nd. Steadfast this expansion pretty much makes the Templar the best raid healer.

And oh boy a Mystic can output more DPS than a Templar while healing, yah I'm sure they can output a lot of DPS against Avatars and heal, no probably not!

Heh, I dont think (or at least I hope) anyone in a serious RoK raiding guild is making healer choices based on how much DPS the healer themselves bring. As a healer (at least on most classes) you sacrifice enough healing potential to spec/gear for DPS that I'd really just rather replace you with someone who's specced for maximum survivability. That way you don't need to do annoying shit like put extra healers in raid. Pretty much everything in this expansion should be killable with 5-6 healers (...though there there may be a few specific avatars that slip my mind, I haven't fought them all yet...) -- if you need/want more, because you've somehow slipped below the point of no return for healing efficiency, then you're sacrificing DPS slots and just making the fight harder.

I never understood why a healer would prioritize their own DPS over the stability of the raid and something a simple as keeping cures on those who are supposed to be doing DPS. Keeping a close hold on the cures to strip the damage-reactive CC's off your predators/rogues/mages is going to net more raid DPS than you going balls to the wall and nuking/beating on the mob... which in itself causes more problems than just an assassin who's sitting there unable to attack/move/cast from reactive CC... grts on giving yourself some unnecessary disruptive CC! The only place its "safe" for healers to shoot for the moon on DPS are zones/mobs that technically don't require healers anyway. Trash. Joke nameds. We did Silverwing with 3 healers back in early ROK... wtf? (Sorry getting off on another raid design tangent...)

Anyway, once all the ludicrous e-peen waving is done no one really gives a shit about ZW trash parses. Assassins can have their 7-8k's, healers can bust out a few 3k's and feel special, but it's nothing more than e-peen waving. What matters is how the guild performs on the nameds. And on the CC-heavy RoK nameds, I don't want my healers forgetting what their job is.

Oh, and I'll agree that templars are super OP this expansion. The fact that the "best" (min/maxed) raid setup is something similar to what Kall posted is evidence of pretty shitty game design. I made the comment within my guild that "wardens were mostly useless these days" and sort of offended the wardens in the guild. Well.. they're nice people and good players, but I won't fucking apologize for SoE's mistakes. I just call it like I see it. How different this game might have been if the 24 classes would have been collapsed into 12 instead...

This game has, to its own detriment, become far too DPS focussed, it seems. From a player and development standpoint.

well.. actually that was not my point at all, if this "thread direction" is directed to my posting. i was just making a small side note to lacking defiler-dps...

Guardians for sure. They can get pretty high in the parse and out parse some of the members in my guild. They should be good at taking hits and keeping agro, period.

Voted Templar. With or without mythical, raid or group content, they're hot.
