I'm of the opionion a good raid leader makes a huge difference.

Is your raid leader great and guides you through each encounter? OR quiet as a mouse and hopes you'll just kill the encounter.

Often i think a good raid leader is the difference between a dead mob or a dead raid..Discuss!!

Loud has nothing to do with it.

Factors you need in order to be a top raid leader:

-Be fucking amazing at your class
-Ability to call someone out and/or cut them
-Do things that actually make sense

First two are self-explanatory. 3rd includes prioritizing targets, establishing rules, raid setups, strats, etc.

Whether or not you want to be an asshole or not is up to you, but remember there's a big difference in being an illogical asshole that loses control of the guild and a logical asshole people respect.

My raid leader is English from the UK. He even makes 'you fucking asshole' sound elegant. (Of course he only says stuff like that when really frustrated ::looks all angelic in case he reads this::: )

He's not particularly loud. He's one of those people who focuses and concentrates when the encounter is tough.

In my view a good raid leader is like any other boss (RL or in game): they know the encounter, tell you what they'd like you to achieve there, give you any special instructions you need, then leave you to do your job - being available for questions and help - encouraging you along the way.

A good raid leader also wants to see you succeed as much as they want themselves to. A good leader in game is no different than a good leader anywhere, IMO.

Jaraxx is the loudest raid leader I've ever come across. I have him set to 30% volume on vent because hes too fucking loud.
