OK this was a long ass thread but I feel the need to put in my two cents worth.
First of all yeah there are tradeskill classes out there that really do need some serious attention.
I personally have a 70 woodworker 70 alchemist 70 provisioner 55 jeweler and 30 carpenter.
My main toon val is a 70 fury as well. So yeah I adventure too and I am aware of the costs.
Now for the one who started this thread and said crafting is for pussies. YOu spend hours raiding. I spend hours crafting. I make money. You make money. WTF difference does it make if i want to spend my time in a tradeskill instance instead of sittin for an hour waiting for a raid to get formed up and then spending another several hours killin shit for loot i might never win. I do make money crafting as I provide a huge variety in the types of things i offer. I go for all the daily items... food, arrows, throwing weapons, potions, totems etc.

I have fun in this game its called everquest not everraid thank you very much.
It doesnt take a genius to realize these are things every needs at one time or another. I make mastercrafted as well and take orders but my main source of income is in the daily stuff.

So us "pussies" who provide u with all that shit should not be called names cause u dont have the ability to be tenacious enough to sit and craft which is what it really takes.

Anyone who is moderately capable of playing their toon correctly can gain entrance to a raiding guild for the most part.

It takes a professional to make money in this game as a tradeskiller these days,

And while we're at it, are you telling me that you were able to use every single item you ever received from an HQ? By your rationalle they are only worth doing for the equipment, not for the status, but if you did any you can't equip it kinda blows your example out of the water.

I do agree that they took the achievement out of crafting when they increased our XP by 300%. Although I disagree that I have to harvest more for levels, that's just not my experience with my lower level crafters.

You know, the recent TS-instancless playtest brought some interesting things to the forefront. The Dev's seem to think that adventurers and crafters need to be more of a unified community. And here's where LFG and my viewpoints merge: We USED to be a community. I used to talk to Adventurers of all stripes, all the time, all day long. Now my goods are much less desirable and Adventurers don't seek me out as much. They did it to us, and want to fix it. They see the T6 debacle (rare crafted greater than EVERYTHING) and backpedaled so far on it... that now they're afraid to make crafted too good or they'll piss off the adventurers again.

They nerf'd my community.

My kingdon for a freeking happy medium.

It could be their just making it easier to be self supporting and not improve it for people trying to sell stuff. :P

Sage probably gives the best payoff with the least grinding effort, I'm shocked you don't have one.

With only Ad3's as really marketable product, and just about in direct competition with Master 1's, Sages definately have their issues. But if you just need to level up an Artisan for HQ's, Sage is the way to go - they get the most Pristine bonuses.

Trust me, I'm very aware about that. They need to cut the leveling speed, it's too quick for them.

As far as master 1's, they drop like candy off of named mobs - it's pathetic.

No worries Illuminator I will get around to the sage eventually. Probably after I finish leveling the carp and jeweler I will work sage and tailor. And yes my plan is to have one of every crafter dammit.
