    Default Bone Clasped Girdle

Does this still require Geomancy? If so, what's the best way to get it up? Currently 33 alchemist, will be trying it in a few levels :P

It does but since Geomancy isn't used anymore in crafting besides some tradeskill related heritage quests, alternate skills, like Geomancy now max level as you progress in your main tradeskill level. Most people don't do the combines for BCG until they're in the level 60 range for their chosen tradeskill, but it is doable at lower levels, just a lot harder with more critical failures. I did mine at tradeskill level 41, but it was definately not easy.

Somebody in our guild did the BCG combine in the low 30's. They failed first attempt and it was a 45 min combine for the successful second.

Oh my :P I'm so gonna try at 34-35 then, hehehe. Several raws needed and plenty of fuel, should be doable.

I did it as a 36 sage, if you plan on doing it that low make sure to bring an enchanter and/or a bard with you. Because of the critical failures power is the biggest problem. What I did was get naked, ran a totem of the beholder, and had a coercer feeding me power the whole time....and it still took 45 mins to finish the damn thing.

I did it as a level 35 sage. You will need to hit all your counters correctly at that level or your progress will get obliterated. In fact, correctly-done counters are the only way you will win because spamming will get you jack shit for progress or durability. If you spam like a retard, you'll have issues. I did it naked with drink.

You'll notice that when you craft, the process occurs in ticks of 3-4 seconds apart. I wait for the tick, see the red/green numbers float above the table, do the counter if I see it, and then press one or both of the remaining buffs if I'm feeling lucky. Then I do NOTHING until the next tick happens. If you spam like a fucknut, you'll carelessly hit one of those buffs that adds progress or durability at the expense of the other, or you'll miss the counter, and when you're 35 doing a 60 recipe, the fruits of a fuckup get amplified big time.

That's what I usually do while crafting. Although, I hit all 3 types of buffs every tick, if the crafting instance isn't lagging like hell (some days it is), it works most of the time. But I guess trying a 60 (?) recipe at 35 or so would make everyone careful, hehe.

    edit:

oh, and drinks and power regen totems stack I think :P

Ok, i am brand-spanking-new to crafting. After almost 2 years of the game, and after almost 2 years of swearing i would never craft, I decided I wanted the BCG so I started grinding Alchemy on Friday and hit 30 last night.

Just out of curiousity, what benefit does being naked provide? In my ignorant eyes you would loose all the power from your gear thus making it even more difficult to complete the combine. Of course, I am ignorant, so please enlighten me.

On another note, it's sweet that you can do this at a lower level than 60, lol!

Power Regen. Lower Power Pool makes Drink's Power Regen worth more %, combined with a totem for the same, and breeze of course. 1 Ability costs Power with no downsides, which will be one you'd wish you could spam, and since it's cost is based on % of your power pool, with larger power regen ability you can spam it more often

It doesn't say it directly but TS buffs scale to use a percentage of your power, whereas all of your power regen options use fixed values. Therefore, the smaller your power pool, the greater your regen will become as a percentage of your power pool. That is why people take off any gear and combat buffs that increase their power pool. Sometimes they'll leave on their FT gear, but I haven't yet evaluated the effectiveness of this. The one exception is the apron from the T7 Nek instance, which I have a hard-on for because it adds bonuses to crafting skills AND has FT5 without increasing power pool.
