A living world that would mean, tonnes more NPCs, they would all be set up with homes and families and would have tasks to do every day. walking through zones to reach different parts of the city for their own shopping, work or just meeting friends in the local taverns. Fields growing crops, being harvested and resown outside the city walls. Fishermen coming in with their fishing boats to sell the catch of the day. The dry dock in QH actually being used to build ships, that get's put into the water when they are done. NPCs ageing, dying being replaced by new generations? Now all this would require enourmous amounts of computing power for I guess what SOE believed would have been not enough gain in immersion...
