The profanity filter will not filter out a graphic discussion by someone describing in detail how he wants to put his penis in a mans anus, and then have the man lick the fecal residue off his penis afterwards. I'm not a prude, but that kind of conversation should not take place in public channels in a MMO that isn't restricted for players below 13. You can see entire conversations like that on public channels in EQ2 whether or not you have the profanity filter enabled.

EDIT: I guess my main point in making this post is that if it was sensitive enough for someone to delete on the SoE forums, it was either important, or interesting enough to discuss here.

on butcherblock it isnt that bad, sometimes you get the one dumbass in chat who starts talkin bout howt hey know everything about the game ie: how templars will always parse #1 on every fight, how shamans are shitty heals, and how furies and probally the best healers in the game cos their HoT's are greater than wardens, and how wardens cant do jack all cos they suck. /sigh the arguements that actually irk me.
other than that, i am completely fine with ppl saying whatever they want, it's funny to see that one zerker from aftermath go off about how he runs the server then everyone call him a douche, then i say i wanna marry him, hehehe. anyways, point is, i think there needs to be some discression on how far you can go, keep it within the bounds of the badword filter and also please: somehow sony needs to make an age 21+ server, where you can swear all you want at anyone, /shout FUCK YOU MOTHER FUCKER!! I WIPE FOREWARD SO MY NUTSACK SMELLS LIKE SHIT. and just stuff like that so you can have a bit more fun with the game

Lol Maria. I agree, I don't have a problem with profanity by itself, at all, and believe the purpose of the profanity filter in game is to prevent people from seeing profanity that don't want to see it. That allows parents to filter out what their children see, if desired.

I'm talking about hour long discussions of having sex with animals and such, using details and descriptive terms that aren't filtered by the profanity filter. I personally do not want to see those conversations, despite how often I curse on this board.

personally im pretty desensitized to a lot of stuff, not much really bothers me, but i hear ya, i personally dont want some kid reading all that junk and possibly spreading it around school. on the same note of spreading stuff around: watch out for shoe, i hear he has herpes.

I just checked, user edits are still allowed for posts and post titles up to 15 minutes after you make the post. The "edited by" note will begin 1 minute after you make the post. The edit button should be in the lower right corner of your message box, but will only remain for the 15 minutes after you make the post.

That's how it's worked on this board since September.

You get unlimited editing rights and other benefits on this board after referring 20 users.
