Default What would get you to come back?

..or What one thing would most improve your enjoyment of the game?

For me? A little more mechanical stability. Seriously, that is it. The entire reason I left is because I was sick and tired of that constant nagging feeling of how my character was going to be changed and whether I would continue to enjoy him. I play alts yes, and with the amount of time I was spending on line I could have had a ton to mess around with. However, I am one of those people who "identify" more with my main than my alts in any game. Even if I am just going to be on farting around, I want to do it on my main.

There finally came a point where I was faced with spending $39.99X2 + $14.99X2 just to find out whether or not things would turn out ok. Let me be clear. I still enjoyed the game, and my character, on 11-11-06 when I quit.

My advice, for what little it is worth, would be for the devs to quit making people ask themselves "Why do I still play this game?" and "Do I really want to play it anymore?" Expansions should be times of excitement. Current customers should be frothing at the mouth with expecation, not burdened with introspection about continuing to play.

Within reason, give players reasons to stay, not reasons to leave. There were changes that needed to be made, such as hard caps on stats, but there were a lot of things changed that didn't HAVE to be.

Just my 2cp for what they are worth.

Sadly enough i don't think theres anything they could do that would make the game get the attention it so desperately needs. Those who tried it once and didn't like it wont come back no matter how many changes they make. People who quit for this or that reason have most likely moved to another game and/or waiting for one.

The only thing they can do imho is to learn from their mistakes and start working on EQ3 (or possibly a new mmo). This time with proper support and the stability you mention.

Just toy with the idea that Eq2 was to WoW what WoW is to Eq2 today, would the game be any different with 50 times the amount of people? Would the issues people are arguing be resolved? Would they hire more people to support the game? Most definitely yes on all accounts. Thats what this game needs, not some random change a couple of years after the release.

However if i had to tell the devs one thing that defined my entire period in EQ2 it would probably be something like: For gods sake stop rushing things!
Its been a rush and patch game from the start, rush the product, fail miserably, patch as much as you can and start rushing the next thing. Sure content is good, but planned out content that matters is way better.

I already play still but I think the game could use more different TYPES of quests. Not "go harvest the pink spool of thread" or "kill twenty rockinghorses" and such, but puzzles. Like Zelda.

... maybe I've played too much Zelda...

For SoE to implement Risk Vs. Rweard. And maybe some sense of Raid Progression besides Insaces ----> Contested.

Not that i'm leaving, but i'd enjoy the game a hell of a lot more.

Make tradeskills useful. Cut out some of the lag. Stop making things ez-mode.
