You made a point? What, that someone is homosexual for reporting a name? Or did you mean odd or queer for reporting a name? Or was it that because you never get offended by a name, and would therefore never be a "carebear" and report it, that the entire world should view everything just like you and if they are not, they are a (insert other 12 year old put down words here). Love the use of salient, though. Gotta love net kiddies using a thesaurus to post on a message board.

Yah I didnt respond to your "point" because for one I didn't really see you making one and if one of those was your "point" it just means you're a fucking witless mouth breather not worth explaining things to. Maybe you meant your point was something else. I await in breathless suspense to find out.

And for the record, I only ever reported one name in any MMO I ever played. KillallNigg*** (edited the rest so as not to anger the mods here) was over the line for me. If I'm a "carebear" or "Faggot" in your eyes for reporting that one, so be it.

Personally, again, if you really think that the world should not take action based on their own principals because YOU don't think something is offensive, you need to take a vacation to the real world. Very few people see things in an identical way out here, and most people with at least a small shred of intelligence don't actually think that there is only one way to determine what is or is not ok.

Before I met my buddy, he played as Vegeta, which is apparently some retarded anime character.

When it got petitioned by a fellow anime nerd who was offended that his supersayan hentai television buddy's name had been co-opted for use in a video game (THE HORROR!), the GM changed it to Kalap. He's still Kalap, too. I'm glad, because Vegeta was a really gay name and got even gayer when I found out it was from anime (everything from anime is gay).

my point is simply that there are plenty of people who love to play citizen cop in a video game over meaningless retarded shit (like names that half the time aren't offensive or worthy of a name change, language protected by the language filter, etc.), and each and every one of them is a faggot (or a snailfucker, if use of the word faggots offends you so).

On this point we agree. MOST of what is reported/petitioned is pathetic and people need to get the fuck over it. I don't disagree. I just disagree if you think there is never a time when reporting something is "laughable" or whatever you want to call it. There are times when people flat out go the fuck too far. Those who know me IRL or in game know I am not an easily offended person. If anything, I do most of the offending. But yah, basically saying any name should be ok regardless of what it is...is crap. Sorry.

I'm on the side of all those that don't report EVERYTHING, but do have a line. Racial and blatant offensive deserve reporting. Popular fiction names like Drizzt are specifically mentioned in the naming policy, so I'll report those as well.

The reason? Same as the rest of you winey bitches. If I can't name my halfling "Frodo" or my Dark Elf "Drizzt" than neither can you. Deal with it. I reported a guy running around as a dwarf druid named Pikel Bouldershoulder. It's in the same fucking books as Drizzt, and is a standout charactor. Funny thing, is it took 3 times before it got changed. So I made a barbarian named Wulfghar Sonof'Boerngar just to see if it would get nerfed. Never did.

I also think some names are lame, but won't be reporting a frog named Hoppy, unless his last name makes a substance reference.

I understand the reason why SOE doesn't allow these names, and it makes sense to me.

But yes, if I can't use the name then neither can you. That's the rules. I didn't make them.
