Come to think of it, my character named Erection didn't last long either. I think a GM with a sense of humor changed his name to Flaccid.

What happened was I had this friend in game, she was wacky and spirited in her own way, but almost always good natured and fun to talk about random shit with. But one day she starts bragging to me about this dude whose name she reported. So I asked her who, and she says Bish, that it was demeaning to women and blah blah blah. Of course she was always gung-ho women women women, she sleeps with one.

REGARDLESS I knew it was Ix/LFG that she did that to so I at least talked to her sternly enough to kill the joy.

One of my guildies had "BestPlayer'Gamewide" as his name for about 2 weeks; that got booted real quick.

There was a Conjie who I grouped with a lot on Oasis whose original name was Thelovemachine. Someone reported that too, so now his name is Apupam. We laugh at that one quite a bit still :smiley-very-happy:

The Downward Spiral was changed to "Abccba" out of the blue one day, we got it fixed back though. That was fucking gay. I don't really have a problem with people using current culture naming stuff, as apparant from my name "Reznor" and The Downward Spiral. But I do hate people using knockoff fantasy names, or trying to make character names with different spellings of gay-ass phrases. LFG, I like ya, but I would have petitioned "Bish" too, I think it's dumb. Same with Miles O'Tool, and anything of that nature. But as you may know from my previous topic, I hated most of the people on eq2. LFG was cool though

Who was that guy on Nek...Cryme Ariver? Yeah I hated that and...Palmz, another one, I'll think of more later.

My name is Proxo. My original name was Poxx, im a ratonga warlock. So a lil rat named Poxx, who deals poison and disease damage... yeah, well a friend of mine gave me that name, and one day i got tell from gm, saying are you ready for the namechange? and i was like what? and i was autologged out. and when i came back my name was Proxo, i still hate that name, and i refuse to regrind a new warlock with that name... ive saved that name on another alt, and im gonna use that name on some other poison or disease based class. still name nazi will probably strike again... and that gonna piss me off.

Oh yea, i petition to change my name BACK to poxx, and they said something like "popular media" and i demanded an explaining and they said it was a character in a movie named Legend, for crying out loud! So if name is in a book, or is a person name its illegal. if its a product name its illegal, so in other words, if its not made by random name generator its illegal!.

Yea ive done some further research... and Proxo, is short for Proxomation proxy server IE that should be illegal, and i tried that twist in my namechange... well quess what... they said my name was ok...

You know, I don't fault her for being offended by that, and pretty much agree that name was over the line. But what she needed to realize is that I'm a supporter and advocate of women's rights, and did not mean "bish", slang for "bitch", in a negative sense toward women. I guess it's just a gutter kind of term used playfully between dudes. I don't ever call any woman by derogatory names often used to insult females or whatever. I like women and usually treat them with respect.

I love that movie and for the life of me can't think of a character with that name.

In a thread on eq2players, I pointed out to people pissing and moaning about it spoiling their emerision or whatever that all the time you spend petitioning people like "Poxx" or "Nail Gunn" a GM has to take time out for this stupid shit instead of dealing with fucked up game issues like masters in walls.
