My guild is a pretty big one. (Certainly not the biggest on my server, but a good number, none the less)

Most of us either: 1) don't have the rig to play a game of that magnitude comfortably. 2) don't have the time or energy to pour into a game with a slower progression rate. or 3) aren't impressed with the beta enough to leave.

Like with any game, though, once the hype is gone - whatever brought them to their game of choice will be what brings them back. This goes for WoW, EQ1, EQ2, Vanguard, whatever.

Myisdia, I see where you are coming from, but Vanguard seems to take a few things from EQ1 that just make the game shine. I doubt you will see many "kiddies" playing (i know you didnt say it, im just making a point) due to the thinking and strats needed in the game. Everything requires you to make some sort of plan and tweak that plan as you go, even diplomacy. I don't know about the progression rate yet seeing as how my toon is only level 10. I cant help but do now what I tried to do with my original EQ1 toon, actually get involved in the game on a character level, not just as a player. As for being impressed with beta or not, from what I am hearing from other players, this is the most complete game they have played at this stage in beta period. Whether or not that is true I cant say cause this is the only game I have been involved in at this early a stage. I will admit, I was somewhat let down when I got into beta, but 2 months later when I logged in again (mostly cause when I logged in the first time I was lagging horribly) I was impressed. This game is gonna be around for a while and is gonna be a force to be wreckoned with in the MMO genre. The only things I remember enjoying about EQ2 when I first joined was the ease at which I could slide into the game and the graphics, other than that, I longed for more EQ1 features without going back to the funky graphics..Now I have that I cant say this game is gonna take players away from WoW or not, and I don't care. If they come over, let em come, they just need not act like the "kiddies" people make them out to be.

I know some of my closer friends from SD and some people in general are going to *Try* vanguard, I will as well, however I think most of them will be playing during non-raid hours and continue to play EQ2.

I played since beta 3, its the same shit as any other MMO, just pick one and stay with it.
