These post, again, crack me up about all the "high end raid content" that is lacking and how much this game sucks. I hate to say it, but SOE, like other video game companies, are in it for profit(some of you MAY have notice, lol). And of all the game types out there, MMORPG's give the lowest return on investment. Unless you are WoW and hit a home run....I mean c'mon 9 million subscribers x 14.95 /mo. ..... every month?!?! That is nutts!
Getting back to the point I am trying to make; high end raiders are like 1% - 2% of the population. Period. You don't pay their bills or keep the lights on....you are pretty much an after though. They want you out there, showing off the cool looking items or abilities, owning everything in sight -- but only keep the majority excited at the prospect that one day, maybe one day, they will somehow get their Mythical, or those slick Jarsath Royalty Robes, or whatever.
Point is, the guys everyone rips on about being a noob or whatever -- they are the demographic that SOE is really after; the casual player that maybe logs one 1-2 hours a day and feels like he/she has accomplished something. That is the way ALL these games are going to play from now on, especially when you have a case study out there like WoW. Unless you are Bill gates and have $64 billion to dump into a game you can build yourself privately.
So I would say pray like hell SOE keeps attracting the casual players so they make a little more scratch. Then maybe you will have a shot at SOE fixing some of the raid content. Else, get ready for the next big disappointment - WAR.
