For every made up stat, there are truthful stats that actually make the argument work.

Also, they aren't throwing any R&D money at this game, hence why it is so bad.

By "raiders" they probably meant the x2 of casuals who are pulling Rune Etched Helms and Ethereal Gauntlets out of SoH. =)

If they ever show me a dungeon that requires a full group, full raid gear, 2 healers, an outstanding tank, possibly an offtank, and CC'ers, I'll retract every fucking thing I've ever said about poorly designed progression curves. Hell, make it an x2 zone with legitimately difficult x2 content for fully geared raiders.

Ok, no, I won't say that. But I'll at least change my tune and say "they're on the right track now, at least."

wow Firamas, your train of thought and ideas about this game are very well thought out and put on the page. nice to see an educated post once in a while on how to improve the game, wish the devs would follow your posts...

Thx. I try! Usually I just get a "TL;DR" from some idiot troll. (then again, I used to post mainly on Nagafen and PvP boards, which explains most of that). Nice to see someone actually appreciates attempts at intellectual discourse!

(p.s. I'd go work for SoE, but I'd get paid about half as much as I am now and would be putting in twice the hours. Wham, bam, no thankya, ma'am. Also, I talked to the SoE HR rep who was at the Game Developer's Conference last February, and I didn't get that warm-fuzzy feeling.)

edit: ROFL. In the time it took me to post this (which included a break to hit up the bathroom here at work), one of the aforementioned Nagafen trolls managed to weasel in an ironically timed response. Gnarkill was actually the epitome of the kind of person I had in mind when writing that sentence about the tl;dr comments. I think some karmic force must have summoned him from whatever dark corner of the world that he was currently hiding in. Awesome. Shit made my day. =)

I guess I see what you are saying, but....

I know almost nothing about Unrest. I just took a look at the Unrest server progression thread, and see one guild has killed both Trak and Byzola, and 2 guilds have killed Trak. I have no idea how current those lists are, but will allow they may be wrong/outdated. (And I may have read it wrong, spent 10 secs looking at it)

It looks directly comparable to my server, Mistmoore. A few guilds have completed VP, 2 guilds have done Trak/Byzola. I am willing to stipulate there are some servers who will have slightly more, some slightly less, but 2 guilds seems reasonable.

Looking at that, it is hard for me to see how many more raid zones should be made that are tougher than those, if hardly anyone is completing the zones that we have available now. It looks like precious few people have run out of content, to me.
