Two questions;

2. So I've got a brig I want to make into a swash but I'm wondering since they changed the fact that you can be any class in any city faction, has the betrayal quests changed at all?

1. I'm trying to go from Gorowyn to Qeynos, anybody know of a decent guide to getting this betrayal done or should I just head to eq2.wiki?

Basically the more important question here is:

Not sure if it's different for pve and pvp servers, but...
You'll have to go from Gorowyn to Freeport before you can exile, but that only takes a few minutes to do. Once in Freeport you can talk to a person in the EFP house area to begin the exile process.
After your nice and snug in your new cave, you can start earning faction with any city you like. Since you're interested in going to a good city, I would suggest building faction with Kelethin as it's a lot faster than qeynos to get out of exile, and then do the short quest to go from Kelethin to Qeynos.
If you do go to Kelethin first, the quest is Basic Biodiversity for faction, and you can delete/accept it until you get the right one which will let you run across a hill, kill 3 orcs, and then turn in.

Wiki has a pretty good walkthrough for all off the betrayal quests as well.

Yes. But shes a huge bitch so its going to take a while to get her cleaned up. We need more soap.

Anyway the betrayal quest was cake. It was exactly the same as the one on eq2wikia.
