Re: Classes that try too hard to be something else
I haven't seen defilers mentioned much in this thread, maybe because our DPS really isn't that great. But I figure that on 95% of fights not all healers are required. The number of healers on a raid is usually based on the named encounters, while 95% of raid is fighting trash. So if while we are fighting trash I add my measly 800-900dps to the raid instead of healing, I don't really think the raid loses anything and it goes a tad faster.
just my 2 cents.

We can be fed aggro, just like the guard who MT's is fed aggro, and with reaver and other assorted lifetaps, we're able to refill our own health pool over a 2 min fight.
Honestly, though, DPS is for classes that do DPS. your measly 700-1200 barely compares to a warlock's 3000 You could save that warlock's butt when he overaggros... but not in offensive with a 2 hander. I tried. kept getting eaten.

I see what your saying I know a MTs dps is part of how well we keep aggro among other things. But tell me how I as the MT who is getting stunned/parried/blocked/riposted should out dps a SK who is there dps the best they can incase they do need to pick up a mob. No reason I should be doing double the dps. I hadnt really been looking at the sks dps and I will more but 350 is not good. I dont know time will tell as I look at it more over a couple raids.

Re: Classes that try too hard to be something else
I really don't see the big deal with a brawler tanking...they stuck them in the fighter class for christ sakes...if they are fighter then they should be able to tank...If i wanted to roll a pure DPS class I woulda rolled an assasin or something but Brawlers just looked like a fun tank class...Leave the tanking brawler alone!
