Icon14 Expectations for TSO?
With all the shit leaked, NDA-applied or not, we have a small taste of what TSO will be like. How do you think it'll end up?

Myself? Well, releasing it with WOTLK nearby could be a bad move, since I'm sure WoW's expansion will have more content packed since WoW's expansions aren't released as much as EQ2's [obviously!] And we obviously have WAR out [AOC is getting an expansion, too, apparently, but its date hasn't been announced and well, AOC itself is a different story...]

And I'm really not liking massive amount of the 6-man instances, since I like open dungeons. The 6-man things makes me think of Diablo which I like but is a totally different type of game. Plus, 6-man instances and open dungeons and their qualities can be debated.

However, I do like the group-content-based stuff. It's what ROK really lacked.

So I'm neutral so far.

I'm afraid TSO will be good for awhile be will not have the longevity to last another year.

That's one of the major criticisms about it. I doubt SOE will pull something like the time transition between DOF>KOS again.

I'll have to downgrade my expectations. The mechanics changes being proposed at this time are just dismal. The reduced xp requirements combined with this WoW-like "Combat Rating System" are just an excuse to accelerate the adding of tiers.
