Are all of the same grind spots still used such as Permafrost, PoF, RE, CT etc etc? or is T5-T6 grinding pretty much a desert?

spots are there same but (it may depend on the population) grind groups are sparse. it's easier and quicker to level solo off quests, so most people do that and the few that want to hit a dungeno aren't always on at same time. there are still groups, but don't expect to log in every day and find a group in a "weird" (non-70+) level range right away.

Re: EQ2's Current State
Seems like it'd be kinda dumb to grind in the original content. The loot is so much better in eof. Plus, as long as you're in the newer content, you'll have a shot at having bloodlines and ancient teachings masters drop.

The game is still active and some servers are pretty high population. If you're an instance grinder, Crushbone felt like it had 8,000,000 people who are into that crap.

Correction: 1) If you have a guild full of helpful people any can be finished in a day. 2) If you have many helpful friends any can be finished in a day. 3) If you lack both because you're returning to the game and no longer have the aforementioned, it might take much longer than 1 day if your server isn't bustling with steady pickup groups for stupid zones like Chardok and Chelsith. Chard is about the worst, on two servers i've been on NOBODY wants to set foot in Chard unless they have to. Only time you see pickups for it is someone's epic and getting people who actually wanna go there without NEEDING to, is like pulling out your teeth through your butt.

Re: EQ2's Current State
Best advice is to try for yourself and don't take anyone's word for from here especially. Most here are the whiny trolls that love to stir up shit.
Roll Crushbone, Antonia Bayle, or Nagafen for the higher populations.
I've been playing alts a bit lately and have not found a ghost town, lots of stuff happening/grouping etc. I know on Crushbone I've seen lot of new guild names that I never saw before as well as alot of guild names I hadn't seen in ages showing up again.

Re: EQ2's Current State
My advice?
Don't go back, go play Warhammer or try out VG again. Wait for Guild Wars 2, it'll show you the light

You lose any and all credibility for suggesting Vangaurd unless your trying to get him to commit suicide.
Warhammer however is better than Jesus, no matter what LFG says.

I don't have much time for Warhammer but it holds a special place in my prayers.
