    Default DPS chart

Hello- I was playing around yesterday, and I came up with an interesting idea- A chart for each class that would show the average/expected dps for that class at any given level-- Has anyone seen charts like that/ could pass a link along/ I think that would be an awesome- especially for a site like EQ2I.

I can tell you Templar is 0

Heh ... most people use programs to say how much DPS they do, but with different gear and ways people do AAs, not sure how one can figure an average.

Several people in our guild wanted something like this when we first started to progress. We found that this was in impossible task. Every person has different gear, different group make ups, different AA requirements, and different roles on different encounters. Your best bet is to check class forums for parses and compare a persons dps and your raids dps. If your raid is fairly equally geared this will give you an idea if people are close to where they need to be.

It isn't impossible, but I've never seen it done.

As far as Mohare said, he's wrong. He was just lazy.

It isn't difficult to look at players with top level gear and see their parses, then using stat adjustments based on gear differences to make a ballpark determination of where your DPS should be.

Then again, if your raid leader were worth a shit he'd be able to tell you.

Easiest way really is to take the total raid DPS and figure out what percentage of it a given person is going. I havent raided in TSO but back in RoK if you were doing 10% of a raids DPS you were fucking smokin it.

So I'd say 10% of a raids total DPS is t1 but it does depend on encounters and AE pulls and all that. It may have changed now days though.

Group setup is like 80% of potential DPS, I don't know how you can normalize that.

    Fairly easy.

People do ~ DPS adds for buffs all the time.
It's not hard to determine attack speeds, either, because the haste numbers are all there.
    DPS, is the same.

None of this is impossible, you're just not thinking outside the box.

it would probably be fairly easy for mages. Breaking DPS down by the individual stats like spell haste/ crit %.

Could even just give stats on certain sets and let people guess it out.

Melee would probably be a bit more difficult based on weapon sets, but it would be sort of similar.

i know there are 1000 different variables, but that doesn't mean you can't give ballpark numbers.

At any given level. Now that is something.

edit: The other people who responded all talk about max level TSO raiding etc. If that's what you want, just talk to different players in HC guilds and ask for their dps output.

I'm not talking about max level tso raiding, I'm just talking about ballpark numbers.

If you do this on a wall, you're not figuring in resists, but those will give you default stats.

If need be you can group for wall sets, to see how a group might affect your DPS. Compare that to some raid mob parses for resists and such, then you could probably do some charts on parse expectations for raid mobs.

Damage will all scale down base on the abilities affecting stat. DA/crit numbers can all be scaled down, there are also plenty of people on these forums that have done the mathematics for how those changes affect DPS. The same for Haste/DPS modifies.

Procs have always been easy to figure out.

These charts could also be produced for any level character in the game, with any spell ability level.

It would take a little bit of thought outside the box, and quite a bit of time, but it's completely possible.
