I seem to recall Grimwell being promoted to upper SoE management that included projects outside of EQ2.

It's not uncommon for people to be hired for a role, found wanting and moved sideways or even upwards into a role 'more suited to their skills and abilities'.

Sometimes it's true and it all works out. Sometimes the management team that did the hiring don't want to admit they picked the wrong person and end up having to extricate themselves from an even worse situation after the promotion.
