With the new expansion and the downtime from the manual transfers going on, is there any hint that we might be getting a free transfer period?

I am sure when TSO fails they will be merging servers/offering free transfers.

I assume it'll be just the opposite. I imagine SoE earns a large portion of their revenue from transfers.

Transfers are grotesquely overpriced, especially considering the few guild opportunities (1 or 2) on each server. If you're any bit of a serious player there will be a transfer in your future.

These are the WoW transfer rules, for comparison. The price is $25 and lower level characters have very restrictive carry-on coin limits.

the only time a free transfer will be considered is if they do a server merge, which if that did happen it wont be till spring, like in january when they analyze the server populations

I imagine there will be a spike with population, like there is with any other expansion release, but I don't think we will see a drop until summer again. Populations don't normally start decreasing significantly until May or so. It would have to be a real bad expansion for it to be worse than it is now before May.

No way LoN sales > Transfer Sales! I cant name 3 people who still play LoN but I can probably name 20 that have transferred in the last few months.
